I have to here. He has been lit up enough on social media that he has been profusely apologizing all afternoon. Now, normally, I get it. Offend people, see that you are wrong, appologize.Here is where I have a problem. He is getting called a racist and a bigot on Twitter. Can someone please explain that to me? He talked about how unintelligible the cajun accent is, and about how he couldnt find anywhere in town he would live. The only remotely offensive things said were HD6 being HD6. Can someone enlighten me?Edit: why does it delete my line spacing on mobile?

I guess folks from south La.......

should be considered a new protected group. I was about to call them the c-word, but they are the only ones that can say that. No telling what might happen when Ole Miss fans get there. They'll be dropping c-bombs left and right. probably wind up embarrassing the state yet again.

There is absolutely nothing racist or bigoted about saying that the Cajun accent is unintelligible or that he thinks that Lafayette is a ********.....people with a heavy cajun accent are very hard to understand if you aren't used to it. But he screwed up by apologizing.......he should have just asked how those observations/opinions were in any way racist or bigoted.

I'm with you here.

It was obvious that they were mostly joking. Matt had a bad experience, he said his peace - I could hear some reverence in his tone but maybe that's because I listen to him a lot. National writers bash the dogfuck out of Starkville on a yearly basis for reasons I think are stupid but I don't send them emails about it or call them retards or twitter. I think Matt should have stuck to his guns and just said "I was joking, get over it" or something similar but I think somebody may have scared him in to doing the overdone apologies.

Stevens is a douche, but we already knew that.

The more important question is why does no one ever have to go on apology sprees after insulting Starkville/MSU? Because God knows we get insulted for no reason on an almost weekly basis by half the people in the media.
