As we said, the MAIS playoff format is going to be insane

Right now, 1-5 Hartfield is ahead of 5-1 JA and 6-0 Parklane. JA beat Hartfield 41-22 and Parklane has a win over No. 2 seed Jackson Prep.

1-5 North Delta is ahead of 6-1 Oak Hill. oak Hill beat them 40-0

Hartfield is literally playing Heritage, East Rankin and Starkville Academy the next 3 weeks - as district games.

This is ridiculous. And the solution should be simple. The big 4 are the top classification. The next 16 are the 2nd classification. Each 2nd division team plays 1 of the big 4 in a non-district game. All of the big 4 and 8 of the 2nd division make the playoffs.

Parklane will lose one game this year (this week to MRA) and probably be relegated to Division 2 playoff.

About time to close the MAIS down. It is very hard to have a higher level of incompetence than the MISSHSAA, but the MAIS has succeeded.
Nothing wrong with the MAIS…..it’s probably needed for the smaller schools.

The issue here is bending over backwards for the Jackson 4, because they refuse to play public schools with a multiplier, like every other state does. Remove that aspect then every issue with this goes away.
