This is going to be an entertaining game if you like to see old school physical football. It’s hard to beat a good team twice and the same season. That being stated I think Ashbrook defense seeing the SP offense for a second time in the same season will make it a little tougher on South Point. I think this game will be another low scoring defensive contest. I hate that two of the top teams in the Big South 3A have to play in the second round. This game can go either way.

Seeing SP two times in a year is a big advantage , Ashbrook will be very motivated , give me Ashbrook in a close one.
Ashbrook defense will be the key , can they force turnovers and slow down the Red Garbage offense

This is the game all SP fans are waiting for. Ashbrook has a very good team but almost everyone feels that the Raiders let that first one get away. Time to make up for that one single loss.

We know what you mean about letting one get away. That’s what we did when we played SP.

There is a train off in the distance. You can hear it but it’s still far off. Next week you will hear it a little better. If you have a next week.

I like to see South Point win. Then a 3rd rd matchup with North Lincoln. But one game at a time. Go Red Raiders

This should be another low scoring game and close final score. Ashbrook has a very good defense, especially against the run. I think SP will win but, will not be easy. I know SP will be ready.

Did blee play last week? I know he was hurting after the huss game, he was clutching his ribs after that game. If he is good this will be a good ball game, if he is not ashbrook could run away with it.

Look at Blee's performance last Friday against MC. I believe he is fine.

That's why I asked I wasn't at the game nor have I searched for stats. I did talk to someone close to the program on Thursday who said he was still banged up. As long as he's good it'll be a good game

He is a tough kid but he takes a pounding. He probably is just playing through a lot of things. Playing physical teams do not help his cause. I will be surprised if he decides to play football next season due to his college baseball commitment.

I've had the same thought about his focus on baseball trumping him playing next season but have recently been hearing he may shift his focus to playing football in college rather than baseball.

This is going to be a dog fight from start to finish. Glad we got this game at home.

I like south point in this one. I haven't seen them in a number of years but I'm going to try to make it to the game. Everybody says they're one dimensional on offense but they won't mention that offense is won a lot of games!

I also will make my first Raider game in a few years after building a new home and moving to Myrtle Beach. I have watched SP games on NFHS and reviewed a number of Ashbrook games as well. If SP can contain the Greenwave QB and score at least 21 points they should win the game.
Looking forward to being back in Lineberger Stadium to enjoy a Raider game. Good luck to all other Big South teams tonight.

Who in their right mind under the age of 90 would want to watch that match up? insert picture of paint drying
We don't care how boring or how long it takes just as long as we are the team that will play next Friday night.
More importantly we have a must win game tonight. Hope it's boring. That would indicate it was a good night for the Raiders.

They are still very much one dimensional but more now than probably ever before they can throw it if they need to.

Just my thoughts, hard to beat anybody twice...especially those guys in red. From what I saw SP uncharacteristically shot themselves in the foot all night long. I think Blee had multiple turnovers in that one Was that partially because of Ashbrook? Absolutely! But now they know the scheme that is going to be run against them and have plenty of time to make their adjustments. Ashbrook also had some very questionable calls...but that's all in the eyes of the beholder I guess

Don’t know what you mean by disappeared. SP is a junior team who are Conf champs …. beat Crest, KM and HH. Ashbrook played a great game. They didn’t need help this time. Lots of seniors and this definitely is their best year in 20 years. Congrats to them.

South Point made an abnormal amount of metal mistakes last night that haunted them. Credit Ashbrook for being able to successfully run on us better than I have seen a team do in many years.

You are right. SP played last night like it was the first game of the season. Not sure what was going on but you could see it when they came out to start the second half. Low energy level, almost like they did not want to be there. Ashbrook was definitely the better team last night. I think SP played a better game the first time with the Ashbrook "GreenWolves", ha ha. Yes, we heard the P.A.'s brain fart.

Ashbrook is actually junior and sophomore dominated.

Those seniors shouldn’t be diminished. Some big names as Sophs and a few juniors….and yes they will be good again. But….it shouldn’t take away from this being their best year in 20 years.
