I’m not sure if Asheville has ever played Robinsville before. 2 very proud programs. It’s always nice to play other wnc teams. I’m not sure what Robinsville has or what they have coming back this season. Perhaps someone can fill us in on that. Pretty good little drive out to Robinsville. I know Asheville loves what they have coming back. This is a game Asheville should win but Robinsville is a 1A powerhouse

Robbinsville would've won this game the last two years but Asheville will be the favorite this year.
Robbinsville has to replace a stud at QB.
RB and FB have to be replaced. Lost some great lineman too.

Robbinsville isn't afraid to play the big boys. We've played Erwin, Christ School, Charlotte Country Day, Rabun Co. GA, and Hapeville Charter Atlanta recently.
Asheville should have their best team in a while and should win. Key word should.
Man I would like to had this game on the schedule the last 2 years..talk about an _ss whipping ..Not this year I don't think. However Walsh did lead a very large underdog with Hayesville to victory over Asheville
The next year Asheville scored with about 2 minutes left and added a 2 pt conversion to win 22-21. If Coach Walsh had been the head coach I believe Hayesville would of won at least 1 state title. Probably more.
'97 and '03 had state title caliber talent.
Hey if it makes you feel better, we had state championship caliber teams in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014 and won one state championship
I'm not a Hayesville fan, just recognizing talent. I like seeing good football teams play, no matter the school.
Murphy played or scrimmaged Asheville quite a few of those seasons and I lived in Asheville for 2 years myself, saw that 2011 team up close a couple of times. I agree with you, Asheville probably should have won 3 or 4 state titles during the Wilkins years.
For my money yall should have won back to back in '02 and '03. I remember when your '03 squad came to town and beat Robbinsville in a shootout 61 to 51. Great ball team.
Asheville should be the heavy favorites. I think they more than likely get us by a touchdown or two but it depends on our QB play. I wont count us out just yet.

Those two won the SMC, so obviously talented. But 02 probably the biggest "one that got away" for Hayesville during those years. Had the ball pretty deep in Elkin territory in the final minute of a tied regional final, fumbled, then gave up a long TD pass the other way as time expired. Elkin won the state final 30-6 the next week.
Playing at Robbinsville would not be surprised if the Black Nights win.

Our coaches would've jumped our kids a$$ for acting like that.
Congrats to robbinsville, yall deserved it with a clear and decisive win.
On a side note I want to say, that is about as pathetic of a performance as you could possibly have and in the 20 years I have been watching Asheville high football, that’s probably the second worst loss I have ever seen behind enka in 2012. From top to bottom, a complete s*it show. To be a 4a school and to travel 2 hours west to play a formidable 1A school and get flat out dominated is not only unacceptable, it’s embarrassing. I don’t know how you could be more unprepared than what that disgrace was out there tonight. It seems like 100 years ago when we were a legitimate state power in football. We have become a laughing stock these past several years and there is no sign it’s going to get any better any time soon. I only wish Robbinsville would have beaten us worse just to twist the knife a little more. A pathetic display from beginning to end. I don’t know how these coaches and players look at themselves in the mirror with all the talent they have and continue to put out that product year after year. It’s embarassing. I’m done

It wouldn't have mattered where they played at.
I'm glad we beat Asheville. However, they were not a very good football team..The teams up that way are very soft..We have literally destroyed every team up that way. Asheville, Erwin,East Henderson, North Henderson, Enka. I think Asheville had their hopes up because they beat Shelby in a scrimmage. All those coaches said the same thing in post game interviews..
