This.

I don't care about Ashley's views. I don't care about anyone's. We're all entitled to believe as we please.

Sports is my escape from the pettiness/hatefulness of American politics. Unfortunately, people of all political persuasions can't quit mixing the two, including Miss Judd.
I hear ya. And you're not totally wrong. But at the same time, this is an open forum and it does relate to uk basketball. The best medicine for something to go away is to ignore it. If some of these posters attacking the thread really dont want sports to intertwine with politics you might as well cancel ESPN, most national writers, definitely shouldn't listen to Matt Jones, and probably shouldn't approve of Cal going on O'reilly and Morning Joe, two political opinion shows, and promoting a book. He always gets political questions there. I think some people just don't like the political material, not necessarily the political nature. This is a very pro-conservative board, and I think some of the lefties have a little outrage toward that, not necessarily a political natured discussion here. "No politics allowed" crowd (more than likely) is from the left side.

Because damn if I don't like a thread I just don't click on it. Why the constant outrage? Not you in particular, just an observation.

She's a woman with a political view, go on with your day and don't worry about it. Nobody comes out in public and berates you for yours.
Have you ever gotten up on a stage and accused the President of incest with his daughter like the aging, psychotic Ashley Judd?

It's a shame someone hasn't "accidentally" dumped a beer on her empty head yet.

My son and I were at the Friday session vs. UGA..we went out to the smoking section to have a beer at half time and were chatting with other BBN members about the increased security in Nashville because of the Presidents pending arrival..we voiced our opinions on who we voted for and the support we give/gave during the election..some of us agreed and disagreed about the POTUS but we did it civilly and said Go Big Blue and went back in to cheer on the Cats..no offence given or taken.I wish Ms. Judd wasnt looked at as a spokesperson of our university..she is embarrassing..
As it should be. Great post. Thank you.

Now I know how you can have nearly 3000 posts and only three likes.

That would sting a little more if I actually posted more than a handful of times since rivals switched to this software. You sound like a teenager that gauges your self worth based on the number of Facebook likes you receive.

I love Ashley and her views. Just because the majority here are conservative doesn't make you right. She's allowed to have her opinions at a political rally where she was invited to talk.

She's also allowed to go to a basketball ball game and enjoy her Cats without idiotic fans harassing her.

trump actually won 118 out of 120 counties in KY- what kind of treatment did she expect- personally don't condone harsh treatment to her but she should realize that her days of being relevant in this state are long over and to think she actually gave some thought to running for the senate a number of years ago!!!. I actually watched her performance at the women's march and was completely embarrassed by the fact that we once revered. her..

Always comes with the territory whenever you have a so called fan of a team that likes to be in the public eye regardless of the forum.

Without divulging too much into politics, I hate that the American public has given so much freedom and credence to movie and sports stars and continue to provide the forum for them to voice their political views. What's more sad is so many follow them blindly because of who they are.

Wish those screaming the loudest had to spend time in the trenches with me and my army family in Afghanistan so they would truly understand the freedoms they talk about but don't understand how they acquired them. Hollywood is here to entertain us...nothing more, nothing less!

She's made some very public controversial statements to the public. Not rational to not expect a response from the public which in this case was very tame. A basketball game is a public place not some hollow ground. I'd say some of the most vile things have been said from one person to another at a basketball game.

I like Ashley, but she put her views out there in public...in a way that millions saw it. And you're shocked when there's a public reaction when someone sees you? Who cares if it's at a UK game or at the mall.

I'm very much in the middle on politics, but I'm pro-common sense. When you openly, willingly stir up sh*t, then you must understand/expect that not everyone is going to agree with you and there will be backlash. You silently agree to backlash when you kick a hornet's nest.

Simply put, if you cannot deal with the potential consequences, then don't kick the nest.

You reap what you sow. She's one person that needs to move to Canada.

Yes keep this stuff off the board. Oh Well! since it's on the board I'll put in my 2 cents. Cannot stand her. She acts like a spoiled little girl. She can say whatever she likes but let someone else say something and she feels afraid. Just another example of the Hollywood Elite thinking anyone else gives a **** about what they think. Now, I feel so much better. I will hang up and listen to your reply.

She may be unhinged in today's political climate, but what is more unhinged is heckling a stranger as they simply go about their lives.

What's wrong with you people, seriously? Mama didn't teach you any manners? She didn't hug you enough? Dad spared the rod? I mean seriously....

I agree with keeping this stuff off the basketball board but you are 100% correct in your opinion of her and the decadent Hollywood "Elite".

Interesting to see people so loyal to her that you excuse her referring to the BBN as Nazis and racists in the media. Basically, there is no line for you.

And she isn't "just" a "woman with a political view"...she is to us what Billy Crystal is to the Yankees, what Stephen King is to the Red Sox, what Spike Lee is to the Knicks, and so on. And besides all of that, she's the sister/daughter of Wyonna and Naomi Judd respectively...and Wyonna even had to make clear on her Twitter(?) that the views express by her sis are not at all hers. :p

Bottom line is, she is reflecting very badly on BBN as a whole.

I agree with everything you said, but are you condoning harassment because you don't like what she stands for? I think she's looney as Hell, but I don't agree with harassing someone because they have different views.

It's kinda like what everyone was bitching about the last time we played Indiana at Assembly Hall.

The point is about how she claims us men are terrible sexists yet doesn't support the lady cats.
Oh I get it..I was going OT w my question.

I think she doesn't support yet he women's team is because it doesn't reap the exposure like the men's team.

As far as going to men's games, I enjoy it if my wife and I go and take interest in it together, but if I met a chick so over-the-top nuts about them like AJ, I'd be leery. Jersey chasing is not a good look. Maybe Dario got sick of it.

Except for Ashley. She called out the fans for cheering against a player shooting free throws.

And she also claimed most were Nazis. So yeah, she's just another in a long long line of people doing exactly what you said no one does.

You're correct. Until she crossed the line and brought her crap to/about the games. I'm guessing you missed the huge ordeal she made about the way we cheered against the other team?

Who heckled her? The way these people go about making false crap up for attention really makes this story sound like an old man wanted a picture. Probably said something like "even tho I like trump, I'll always love our #1 fan". Even if all he said was "I like trump" it sounds like it was in no way shape or form heckling.

Again. Who harassed anyone? We're talking about 3 words supposedly said "I like trump". If that's harassment then I don't know what to call the way ppl from her side treat anyone with a opinion they don't share. And when she brought Kentucky basketball into her psychotic rants she opened a bag of worms where honestly BBN deserves MAJOR credit for nothing ugly happening.

It seems to me like she was almost expecting to be treated bad because of her recent behavior. When no one really gave her the time of day, she made this false flag BS up for attention. I would wager money on it.

I was thinking the same. If she went to the length of posting something this minor on facebook you can bet she was hoping to get more, maybe instigate something for the sake of "activism"

Let me guess...you loved that Ivanka was harassed on an airplane with her kids and family. Probably applauded the actors that chastised VP pence after he attended their production. Would have traded places with the lady who harassed Sean spicer in the store this past week calling him and his boss fascist. Laughed your *** off at the idiot who wanted a selfie with kellyanne Conway and while posing for the picture said "say I'm ruining America!!!!"......but, but

Let a UK fan pose and take a picture with Ashley at a game and has he was walking away say "I like Trump!!!" Whoa, whoa, there that's where the line must be drawn. You trump supporters are out of control. The above would be hilarious if only it weren't true!!!!

You weren't there and neither was I, so we don't know the full nature of the "confrontation", but with morons in this thread saying things like someone should spill their beer on her, it's not unreasonable to think it was antagonistic.

My point was more a general response to that sentiment which has been oft repeated on these forums anyway, not specifically what happened here.
