If I had a chance to go to a Man City home game next month (don't ask who they're playing, I have no earthly idea), should I take it?

I'd also get VIP treatment and such, due to certain things associated with my job.

Could care or know less about soccer, though. FYI.

It really doesn't matter who is playing. Man City is actually pretty good this year. They play a very exciting brand of football - very attacking. Lots of speed. Good players - Wright-Phillips, Toure, Adebayor, Tevez.

On a side note, have you seen Green Street Hooligans? Watch that before you go.

But definitely take it up. Going to a game for any Premier League team is sort of the equivalent to going to any NFL game. I would tell a foreigner who came over here and was offered tickets to a Rams vs. Lion game to definitely go. Man City isn't Rams or Lions bad, more like the Falcons. Partake of the culture.

it will be worth it even if you don't know why they kick that round ball in the cage thingy with the net. the fans are crazy and the atmosphere should be awesome.

And if you go, please flip off that piece of garbage Adebayor.

And definitely do not wear red.

Even if you don't, it's only a couple of hours out of your life. As someobody else said though, don't wear red.

Even if only for the experience of going to an EPL match. You might even come to appreciate the game.

I've been to a few European soccer matches...
Chelsea vs. Blackburn in Sept 07 (Interestingly, this was the last game Jose Mourinho coached at Stamford Bridge.)
Schalke vs. Valencia in Sept 07 (Champions League match)
Atletico Madrid vs. Espanyol in May 09 (Madrid was down a man and down 2 goals at halftime and scored 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd. It was unreal.)
Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Werder Bremen in May 09
SV Wehen vs. 1860 Munich in May 09 (Wehen is a 2nd division team in Germany. This was a lot different atmosphere than the others but still a lot of fun.)

All are memorable. Even if you don't care for the game, I'm sure you'll be able to appreciate the intensity and excitement.

Maybe you'll bump into Noel in the suites, belt out a little Blue Moon, do a line or ten, smash a bottle over somebody's head, and wake up face down in your own piss in a stairwell at a Tube station.

17 yeah you go.
