When Lemont was projected for the 6A Southern Bracket, I saw them being a potential tough out and a forminable opponent for anyone. However, if they stay in 5A as you have them now, I would not have a problem in making them my pick to come out of the 5A Southern Bracket and making it to DeKalb.

Since Soucie is probably VERY busy as Edgy says, maybe a poster who has looked at the latest projections closer than I have can tell me: If MC does get in, will this shake things up a lot and if so, how?

MT. Carmel goes in 8A, slide everyone down. Next?

I had already assumed that. But I was thinking more along the lines of how the seedings in the eight classes would be affected? It is not as simple as moving everyone down a notch. You would have the smallest team in a higher class now being the largest team in the next lowest class, and depending on the record and playoff points of that team, would that not necessitate revised seeding and thus revised matchups (at least in some cases)? Just thinking out loud now. Could all be a moot point though when all is said and done.

It doesn't really affect anything lower than 6A though because of all the other crazy things that will happen in the next 2 weeks.

Is there any chance MS goes 7A?
I suppose its possible, but probably not very realistic.
There's at least 10 teams with at least a chance of crawling to 5-4, but I don't like the odds of any of them.
You'd need three to find their way in while not knocking out anyone else in the process.

What percent chance do you give LW West falling to 6a?
Not exceptionally high.

Root for Geneva and Lake Park if that's something you want to happen...they are the two in best position to really help this cause.

The Lemont 5A/6A thing is VERY fluid. They could literally land in either class. Total 50/50 issue right now.

If you replace with Mount Carmel, who are you replacing them with. Hypothetically, right now my last team in is Kirkland Hiawatha, a 1a school. So Mt. Carmel slots in in 7A, the smallest 7A school, slides to 6A and so on and so on throughout the draw until you get to 1A.
The seeds, and in some cases the north/south brackets will change in every class based on who leaves and who comes in.

Thanks for your post during this busy time for you. I have always respected the quality of the Lemont program, and am sure they will be a worthy opponent wherever they land.
