I'm planning my yearly trip home to God's country and I've narrowed it to a&m or Auburn (most likely one of the two will be bulldog bash). I'm about to wrap up the rental property for the weekend and it's within walking distance of the field (Cotton District)

My question.. Is there a company who rents street legal golf carts for tailgaters? My dads got a bad back and it would probably also help my mom handle my nephews between house/tailgate so my brother-in-law, my sister, and I can all get shmammered at the game/tailgate.

Advice is much appreciated..

Honestly, it might be worth just paying the guy driving around in one charging $5 for a couple rides. If you are able to find one, and I've never seen people renting them out in Starkville, my guess it would be almost $100. You dissolve yourself of a lot of liability that way, even if you don't get the fun of having a golf cart to drive around all day.

OR... you could just bank on flagging down a nice looking guy with one for your dad. It's God's country, afterall. The only mean people are the ones not wearing maroon.**

There was a golfcart place out on Hwy 12 that tried renting carts a couple of

years ago, but I don't think it worked out and I don't think he is still in business. I know Cross Golf Carts in Columbus has gone out of business too. I would check with the Busy-Lad type rental places, they might have something but it probably will not be street legal. Somebody on here might have an extra cart they would loan you. My brother just sold his or he would have let you ride around with a for sale sign on it.

I believe if you will call the athletic dept, and explain the situation with your dad's back, the will have a golf cart come pick you up Added to say, I know they would from a parking lot, but from a condo may be all together different.

But gathering from your name, if you can afford place in Aspen, why not just buy a golf cart and have it whenever you need.

I was living in Aspen when I decided to stop reading and start posting. Also, the day I came up with the name and I didn't put much witty though into it, and I was probably under the influence of the trees that were growing there**
I could never afford to live there, but if you've never been it's one of the coolest and most beautiful places in America...especially in Colorado.

My father is not disabled. It would just be a convenience to get him, my mom, and the two nephews between two points quickly and painlessly so I was asking. I figured someone in the entrepreneurial spirit had added this to their packages when setting up peoples tailgates.

Thanks for the info though.

Guys charging a couple bucks for rides are everywhere. That's the extent of it. Once you're on campus you ought to be able to flag a athletic department cart down.

You'd think somewhere like the Starkville Country club would have tried something like this out. I guess there'd be some potential liability associated with it, but surely they could use the money and there are probably plenty of people that would pay $100 to have a charged golf cart waiting for them at their condo on Friday to be picked up on Sunday. May not be able to do it because they're not street legal though.

The gears are churning on this one. Good idea to make some money and serve the fan base. Liability would be a hurdle for sure. Hit me up next year and it may be a part of The Tailgate Co.

Try Nabers enterprises in Louisville. He has several for sale and might be willing to rent. If you can't find his number PM me and I will track it down.

I would tweet Scott Strickin when you get which game figured out and ask him who to get in touch w at the University. Surely this is done quite a bit for older alumni. He may even get u a handy capped spot closer to the stadium.
