who he was rooting for in the game since he is a die-hard Auburn fan. Surprised me when he said he was pulling for Bama - just because they're representing the state. I'm sure somebody will say he's not die-hard Auburn if he's not pulling
against Alabama in all they do. Maybe it's easier to do since Auburn bought won the NC last year.

Anyhow that got me thinking... if we were in the same situation, should/could/would you pull for the Bears or the Buzzards?

If Ole Miss and Mississippi State were consistently at the top of the SEC, it would be a lot easier. If Mississippi State was still able to recruit top classes in spite of Ole Miss success, it would be different.

However, if either of our teams won a National Championship, the disparity in the two teams would be too large.

I heard a lot of Alabama Alumni pulling for Auburn last year, and a lot of Auburn Alumni pulling for Alabama this year. Because while it's a heated rivalry, Auburn will still pull the same recruits next year as they would have regardless.

It wouldn't be the same with us and either Ole Miss or USM.

So no, I can't say I'd pull for Ole Miss in a National Championship game for that reason, unless we had just came off one ourselves.

(Note: This was taken from a "pride in Mississippi" stance. From purely dealing with the ******** fans of Ole Miss, I never want them to succeed.)
