with four Bulldogs from the past, who would you choose from the past and would adding these four players make us win 8 games or more?

Stolen from NAFOOM.

Porkchop, Randy Thomas, David Stewart and Jerious.

I have no idea if we would win 8 with this schedule, but we'd be fun to watch in Mullen's offense.

I'd just make one change to your list.

Porkchop, Randy Thomas, David Stewart and Eric Moulds.

I really wanted to add a QB - but I couldn't think of one that would be a guaranteed upgrade. That's depressing.

Randy Thomas - best OL I have seen at State.
Robert Bean - we need a corner and while Smoot was a better cover corner, Bean also brought it on special teams
Ed Smith - got to be able to get a pass rush next year
Eric Moulds - he would be our #1, #2 and #3 receiver

Close but no cigar:
Kevin Fant - just to give him a shot with a real staff
Pork Chop - because you can't have an OL that is "too good"
Willie Blade - to stuff things in the middle and draw double teams
Tony James - the best return man we've ever had that Mullen would get the ball to on offense as well

I felt the same way about a QB. At first I had the OL guys and Smoot since a true, shutdown corner is so valuable. Also, I can't argue with Moulds, but I'd love to see what Jerious could do behind a decent line in an imaginative scheme. We're talking 2,000 yards in a 12 game schedule.

So, I would replace one with either a DL/RB, or CB cant decide what we need more.

If Elliot is healthy I would say our next biggest need is at DL.

Jerious Norwood- He did it by himself his SR year with no line and no other offensive threats. Further he could WR or an option type QB.
Eric Moulds
Randy Thomas
Sleepy Robinson

close seconds
Robert Bean
Willie Blade
Kevin Prentiss

That's a tough list to distinguish. I think we need a good leader on the line in Anderson.

Quinton Culberson- is Awesome
Fred Smoot-Someone who could cover any receiver one on one which would allow us to blitz more than once a game
Eric Moulds -Beast
Brian Anderson- Intelligent O lineman who could play any of the 5 positions

John Bond. Great option QB. Good passer.
Jerious Norwood. Probably the best RB MSU has had.
Eric Moulds. Best WR.
Randy Thomas. OL. Need linemen.

Close but no cigar...
QBs Robinson, Smith, and Felker.
RBs Haddix and James.
DB Bean, Smoot, and Harris
DL Blade
WR McDole and Knight (or even Keyshawn Johnson-- he did sign a scholarship...)

As much as I loved Jerious and JJ, the RB position is far from our biggest need. I'd like to have a receiver in this group, but I feel the freshmen coming in the fall will suffice. Therefore; I picked a good spread QB, plus we need the depth. I picked the best defensive player MSU has ever had, Cooks. And I just made our OL one of the best in the SEC.

Randy Thomas- OG- I really wanted a LT, but I just couldn't pass up Randy.
Jerious Norwood-RB
Johnie Cooks- MLB

And heck yeah we would win eight games, because I picked the players.

especially with the loss of Langston. That's why I said Smoot, 2 dominant OL and Jerious.

Don't know about that. I think J-Rock > Percy Harvin under Mullen with the good OL replacements you mention. Which is to say I'd take Norwood getting the ball in space over Moulds getting the ball in space.

and of course...

Smoot

I'd love to see the offense run with those three on it, and Smoot's just too good.

But after the egg bowl I am not sure I would call any of our lineman serviceable. A good center can change the whole dynamic of an offensive line. Directing traffic, blitz pick up, goal-line situations....ect,ect......

1) Pork Chop.
2) Moulds
3) Norwood
4) Smoot

Add those 4, I say we win 8. Chop would let us move Sherrod to RT, shoring up the OL. Moulds, Norwood add instant firepower to Mullen's offense. Smoot helps shore up CB, a spot I'm quickly getting concerned about without Langston and AJ's future still in question. If I knew DB would be ok, I'd subtract Smoot and add either Kevin Fant or Randy Thomas, but probably Fant.
