Assuming there are any masochists here, the Baseball game is on Channel 32

he was clearly done in the 5th and we were very fortunate to escape that inning yet we trotted him out there and let him get behind in the count to their 3 and 4 guys.

Yes...and Reed, our best pitcher so far this year was warmed up.

I'd like an explanation on that. In hindsight we should have brought in Reed to start the inning.

I've watched the hitters tonight. It seems like Vickerson is the main culprit as far as looking at strike three through eight innings at least. At least as far as tonight through eight we have done better in the making contact category. I also noticed that Cohen put Jet in LF and he has looked good out there. Maybe he has FINALLY found a spot.

Good to see Thigpen get a home run. Any hit would have been nice, but a home run is icing on the cake.

It's a shame that Graveman went too long because he pitched pretty well for his first start up until then. We played with fire and got burned.

they didn't want a sidearmer throwing to the LH Tucker. After that, I can't come up with anything. It was just so obvious in the 5th that KG was done.

Weve hit the ball pretty hard tonight. I don't think Adkins could find a hole if you just stuck one infielder out there. That guy just has horrible luck.

really good plays that hurt us early. We hit the ball hard tonight, but it was right at them, and we played the field nicely. Todd you are right about Vickerson, watching the third strike is not cool. Damn Auburn is killing Georgia, 17-2, is GA that bad or is AU that good. AU already has llike 28 hr's this year, and had over a 100 last year. It looks like a repeat for this year

He had a double taken away from him when their LF sno-coned the ball.

If I was Cohen, I would have taken the chance with Reed on a LH hitter. I would have told him to make sure he kept the ball away from him though. The other option is to use Girordo or Watson for one hitter.

Overall, I was impressed with Graveman though. He just needs more experience and needs to build up his endurance.

to beat good teams and you can't afford the control issues we had tonight or a poor coaching decision.

Im glad we made good contact, but tonight is what will drive Cohen nuts---fly balls. That's not how you attack the defense.

I never dreamed we'd have this much trouble scoring runs.

Auburn has a nice line up AND Georgia is pretty bad.

And Florida started 3 true freshmen tonight and several sophs. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with for several years to come under O'Sullivan.

Has really sruggled this year. I haven't checked on them since Sunday, but they've been hovering around .500 all year so far.

It makes our series with them next weekend very big because I think they're a team that we can steal a series from. Especially at home.

Auburn, to their credit is improving as well. So, it's likely a combination of both.

Rated Florida's class last year #1 in the country.

In my opinion, we've done OK scoring runs, but we've had a lot of problems getting extra base hits. Coming into tonights game, we were averaging only one run less than UF per game on the season despite hitting almost 30 points less as a team.

At the very beginning of the year, we were hitting OK, but the defense was killing us. So, Cohen adjusted the lineup with Frost and Shepherd, two guys that are not as good offensively as Sneed, Butler, etc. Our defense has gotten better- no errors tonight in fact- but our offensive production started to sag. I think putting Butler in LF will help with that some. It was nice to see Jet make a nice play out there because he has struggled practically everywhere else. Another thing that might help is putting Freeman at catcher on Fri and Sun. and putting Duffy in at DH on Fri and Sun so that we have another good bat in the lineup against the other teams ace. And yes, I know that Thigpen launched a ball tonight and maybe he will start to hit, so we'll see.

Also, Ogden and Adkins have both struggled lately, and that has hurt us as well.

But you are right- until we get better talent in here, we do have to play pefect baseball to beat someone good. We need this next class to be as good as advertised.
