Don't really care, but it's going to be strange seeing DirectTV owned by Time Warner (via AT&T) competing against Time Warner Cable (albeit under a different name by then).

Will be interesting to see if it goes through.

Not true. AT&T is buying Time Warner, not Time Warner Cable.
Time Warner Cable merged with Charter and is now known as Spectrum.

I remember that whole deal with Charter and TWC now.

Now I don't care.

Im waiting for these Anti-Trust laws to come down the tube for At&T they own everything.

Kinda funny that AT&T as we know it was formed as part of a monopoly break-up.

Basically this would give them HBO, all the Turner Properties (TBS, CNN, TNT, etc) and the Warner Bros Film Studios. The only thing that might make this a big deal is net neutrality. If they decide to white list these properties so they don't count against data caps, then it could lead to some regulatory issues. Otherwise, I don't really see the problem here.
