That number is about to go back up; you better hit Seat Geek. About as close as you’re going to get. I’m still patiently waiting for Red Sox season tickets to open. Ain’t happening
I’ve heard that Red Sox season tickets aren’t that hard to come by. Sat next to a lady on a plane from Boston who said they only had to wait 1-2 years for tickets. They had them for a few years, then let them go. High turnover rate, evidently.

I’d imagine for baseball, the people who can make both the time commitment and the financial commitment for 81 MLB games are few and far between. And a lot of people who think they can find out how difficult it is when they actually try it, as far as fighting traffic, paying for parking, concessions, cold / rainy weather prep, etc.

Yeah, 81-game season tickets is a LOT of baseball. And it's generally easy enough to just buy single game tickets when you want to go to a game. As for getting to/from the game, the train/subway is the way to go.

Hmm! Give it up Patdog. My name has been on the baseball list for six seasons and I am still sitting on the berm. If you want a seat in Lambo or at Polk-Dement go to SeatGeek.
