At this point, with our erratic starting pitching, I'm no longer worried about..

At the present, I'm more worried that we're burning up our best reliever on a tues night with a huge series this weekend

how few of you truly understand the ebbs and flows of a baseball season.

I agree that we have some ijuts when it comes to baseball, but you can't deny that the starting pitching is extremely worrisome at this point. It can definitely turn around, but it's bad right now. Outside of Lindgren and Graveman. Hopefully adding Pollo to the weekend will help...we'll see.

Lindgren has been pretty good, but not by sec Friday starter's standards. He doesn't pitch enough innings

Ebbs and flows my rear end, its pretty simple, if this team can't count on reliable pitching it is a VERY average team. We ran up some pretty decent offensive numbers against some bad teams early on but right now we only have one hitter that good teams really don't want to face and that is Renfroe. This team was suppose to be built around pitching and defense and both of those aspects for us have been extremely shaky since the 17-0 start.

We're 2-4 and facing a really good team. It's huge if we wanna stay in the sec race.

Many predicted 3-6 to start the year. I get it, we need to win a couple up there. But odds are the **** ain't happening with this bunch. The Auburns/Floridas/Texas A&Ms are the 'huge' series for us right now.

We'll need to take 10 of 15 from the Auburn, Bama, Florida, aTm, and OM series'... If we can get 4-5 or 5-4 out of the last 3 series (Vandy, USCe, and ARK), then we can finish 16-14 or 17-13 and host a regional. If we get hot, we could still win the SEC.

AP is 22 in rpi. Arky is 55. You could argue that, in the overall big picture, this game tonight is almost as important as one this weekend. Not quite, obviously, but it is big. So I don't have a problem with throwing Ross out there tonight. And for everyone continuing with the "long" season, its early, can't get caught up in one or two games at this point. Well, don't look now, but the season is exactly half over after tonight. It's time to move. Now.

You do realize that Ross will be completely fine to pitch a few innings on Saturday or several innings on Sunday, right?

Sure he will this weekend, but what about a month from now? If we wear him out, we're done

Ross is a low effort guy. He'll be just fine. Injuries happen... but Ross isn't putting his body under any kind of "extra" duress so far this season.

I hope you're right. He pitched Friday, Saturday, and now today. I know Saturday was a short outing, but he did pitch.
