At what moment did you know we would lose?

Agree - we get that stop and we win. Maybe a tie with our 4th and 1 we didn`t come close to getting. I think if we continued that drive we probably would have won. Bottom line - we had all of the momentum until the 4th and 12 conversion then the subsequent touchdown. Realistically though, A&M is very good and played about as sorry as they could have in the 1st half. That being said, with that big of a lead we should have won the game. The time out thing at the end of the half was inexcusable. If Shane couldn`t see it an Asst. Coach should have been yelling for a time out. If we get 34 instead of 30 perhaps that would have been enough. We had 3 time outs for Pete`s sake.

I had a feeling during halftime that we were going to blow the lead and lose. After the first few possessions I was praying to god that we could hang on and stop them from going from 3 points to over 30 points.

it’s so sad I can’t help but chuckle.

Was at friends senior day game so only kept up through gamecast. Couple friends there, not Gamecock fans but college football fans who were rooting for them today…we all knew it was over at 30-17.

I had an uneasy feeling when we had to settle for a field goal at the end of the first half partly due to poor clock management. But that unease was mostly overshadowed by bewilderment at the score.

When they converted the big 4th down on their first drive of the 2nd half (was that the 4th and 12?) I definitely felt like we had a half of anxiety ahead of us.

Then when we failed to convert the 4th and 1 on the next drive, I felt like the odds were no longer in our favor. I didn't disagree with going for it there, but I agreed with the announcer that it should have been Sellers taking under center with a tush-push type play.

The halftime speech of smugness?

4th and 1 and foregoing the kick?

4th and 12?

For me, I think it was 4th and 12.
Yep. 4th and 12 changed the game entirely. Not just that they converted it, but that it was a QB run. Get that stop and we likely win the game. That one play gave them a HUGE injection of enthusiasm and we never recovered.

How many records do we have? Largest lead blown, most completions in a row - anybody remember T Martin? Most coaches fired for losing to us... I'm sure there's more but I've been drinking.

I should add, as I noted in the game thread, settling for a FG instead of a TD to end the first half came back to haunt us. We had a critical error when we let 8 seconds tick off the clock before calling a TO. Ended up having to kick a FG. Beamer said he didn't call TO b/c he thought the pass was incomplete. That wasn't the moment when I knew we would lose, but I had a sick feeling in my stomach those 4 points would come back to haunt us.
