If there’s one thing religion has taught me, it’s that we didn’t come from no damned monkeys.

This man speaks Truth.I’m 98% sure we came from apes that found their way through the Cumberland Gap.
But if they are right, then they didn't waste chunks of their life on religionI’ve never understood the benefit of being an Atheist.
If they’re wrong, they lose out.
If I’m wrong, I’ve lost nothing.
Never pegged you for a sock Philistine, grove.Tried several different ones through the years. Everything else just feels weird to me.
I don't believe in a God. I don't see what that has to do with believing the world is meaningless though.
I spent many years searching for truth and came to the realization that everyone has their own truth. I don't know if there is or isn't a god and I really don't care. I don't need a book to tell me how to be a good human being.
My life has plenty of meaning.
But I'm not wasting it giving churches money or believing a magic man is creepily watching my every move or will punish me because I don't suck him off verbally every day.
That's exactly what I said.
If your thoughts about your religion are an opinion to you, then you're not sure there is a god.No, you said your opinion was that everyone had their own truth. My opinion is that there is an absolute truth.
Opinions are not the same as truth.
We obviously have a difference of opinion, but that's okay.
If your thoughts about your religion are an opinion to you, then you're not sure there is a god.
I'm not trying pick a fight. I stated my opinion and you felt the need to quote me when stating yours. I'm just holding my ground. We're cool, though.Stop trying to pick a fight, dude. I'm not out here trying to save people on a message board. I just posted what I believe. You don't believe the same thing, and that's fine.
I was using opinion and belief synonomously.
[roll] at the stupidity of this statement. If there is no God, we are just the product of random chemical processes and reactions. Our lives have no more significance than a mass of jellyfish floating around the ocean.
[roll] at the stupidity of this statement.
If there is a god, he’s a bigger prick than Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pot, and every other genocidal super villain in history put together.
Anybody have any luck with a good brand of no-show socks that don’t constantly slip off the heel?
Christianity is not about worshipping God so that he doesn't punish you. It's about showing gratitude.
Do you believe what you just said is the truth? If you do, then you believe in absolute truth and your claim that no religion is true is a religious truth claim. Therefore, we put our faith in your authority or Jesus' authority...I'm going with Jesus.Nah. It's the world's oldest ponzi scheme cooked up by man to get people to give away 10 percent of their income to religious leaders in exchange for an alleged spot in heaven.
If there is a god, why so many sects and denominations? The Catholics think the Baptists are wrong, the Baptists think the Catholics are wrong, the Presbyterians disagree with Methodists who disagree with Seventh Day Adventists. Somebody's gonna be wrong.
What about other faiths like Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism?
Again, who's right? Who's wrong? Who's full of ****?
Finally, there's a reason religion is beaten into the minds of children from the time they can be loaded into a car. Children believe in anything you tell them - Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, boogeyman, and so on. If you told a grown adult who'd never been introduced to religion that: a magic man impregnated a random woman with the son of god without having sex, snakes and plants talked, someone parted a sea, a dude sailed the world for 40 days in a handmade small cruise ship with 2 of every animal to ever exist because god got mad and flooded the world - that non-indoctrinated adult would laugh in your face.
With that said, if religion makes you feel good or gives you a sense of purpose, belonging or doing good in this world, by all means, keep practicing it. I have no problem with believers practicing their faith as long as they don't legislate it onto me via laws in our secular government.
No ****?
Man has misinterpreted and misrepresented Gods words.Nah. It's the world's oldest ponzi scheme cooked up by man to get people to give away 10 percent of their income to religious leaders in exchange for an alleged spot in heaven.

God: heres some dinosaurs....wait, my bad, nevermind here's some ppl. And since I created this entire endless universe, where the world is insignificant in size to the rest of, I'll make it where people can't even decide which one of me is the right one. Seems legit.
Also, They've literally found 1000s of fossils of different species of human, some of them existed at the same time...was he just messing up all those times?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you using your logic/reason to come to the conclusion that there is no God? Why do you trust your reason to come to the correct conclusion about the existence of God if there is no God?God: heres some dinosaurs....wait, my bad, nevermind here's some ppl. Three earth ages which if you delve into the bible and us other sources of reference that give you better translations than the King James version you will find this to be true and also, Adam and Eve were not the first humans.God: heres some dinosaurs....wait, my bad, nevermind here's some ppl. Huh?Three earth ages which if you delve into the bible and us other sources of reference that give you better translations than the King James version you will find this to be true and also, Adam and Eve were not the first humans.
It is an explanation of the Bible by some in which I happen to agree.Huh?
Cool, I’ll add them to my list. This has been a really great thread. For real. Very very comfortable, not to tight. Not to loose.
I’ve never heard that one before...It is an explanation of the Bible by some in which I happen to agree.
Adam and Eve were not the first humans.
There are some articles you can Google about it but, I watch a program by pastor Arnold Murray (deceased now) called Shepherd's Chapel every morning who explains a lot about this from time to time. He makes a lot of sense to me.I’ve never heard that one before...
I would be careful with the teachings of Murray and Shepherd's Chapel. They are a heterodox cult: https://www.gotquestions.org/Shepherds-Chapel.htmlThere are some articles you can Google about it but, I watch a program by pastor Arnold Murray (deceased now) called Shepherd's Chapel every morning who explains a lot about this from time to time. I have read that before but, when you go against the grain which he does it threatens the status quo and he made many people angry because he did not believe in the denominational concept because it is man made. Many lies were told because not only did he not beg for money like most do, he made it clear to avoid those who ask for it repeatedly. That will get many of those so called denominations pissed although so far, he has never called anyone of them by name as far as I know.I would be careful with the teachings of Murray and Shepherd's Chapel.
