That's what happens when you have a 16 team league. If a 13-16 seed wins their first two and makes it to the quarterfinals, they're playing a team that hasn't played a tourney game yet.

To install a couple of brand new, cutting edge, offensive plays and a new defense.

If there is enough time he will install a few new plays that no one has ever seen. Not wanting to give too much away but the plays will involve, inbounding the ball under our opponents goal, crossing half court, a pick at the top of the key, a pass to the right at the 3 point line and a 3 point shot that takes 4 seconds off the shot clock.

rather than continue sending every team to the conference tourney. Sending every teamfalls into the category of "every player gets a trophy" mentality that's taken over most kidssports. Yeah, MSU won four games last year to make the tourney... but then we were sent across the country as a low seed and got "handled". This seems to be what usually what happens when a team makes a miracle run through the conf. tourney just to sneak into the NCAA.

On a similar subject...

I'm all for modifying the NCAA tourney, but NOT increasing the size of the field. There should be 20 automatic bids handed out to conferences. Those auto-bids ought to managedlike the Engish soccer leagues are handles which teams move up/down into adifferent level each year.If a conference doesn't win a minimum % of wins over 3 years, the conference shold loseits automatic bid until it can win more than another conference with an auto-bid.

Also, if a team can't finish higher than 7th in your conference, that team shouldn't receive an at large bid.

Because it doesn't take into account the size of the conference. The Big East has 16 teams. Their 7th best team is WAY better than the SEC's 6th best team.

If you were going to put in some sort of rule based on conference finish, you'd have to do it by a percentage, like saying you have to finish in the top half.

I disagree with that even, because it's about getting the best teams involved period, not eliminating teams for their finish in the conference, and it gives an unfair advantage to weaker conferences.
