Attacking Adversity

Hey guys,

We recently had a chance to speak with Dan Mullen, and he is very pleased with how his team has competed early in the year. Obviously, things have not gone as well as everybody would have hoped on the scoreboard, but this is a team that has already overcome a lot of adversity. From an outside view, I am always extremely impressed when I watch Dan Mullen's teams play football. I certainly wish you guys the best of luck with the remainder of the season.

Dan Mullen needs to start attacking his LOSING attitude and stop whining...

...about not enough Seniors, being young, injuries blah, blah, blah. I'm tired of Mullen's excuses and his pouting/losing face on the sidelines when we face any quality opponent not named Alcorn/JSU/Tennessee Directional College. Mullen needs to grow a pair, MAN-UP and remember how to fire-up a football team. We were far less talented back in 2009 and yet that 2009 team played with way more fire, toughness and intensity than this year's slow, soft team product (minus Dak Prescott's tough running ability) he's showcased on the field.

I now expect Mullen to lose to any equal or above equal opponent. I now expect Mullen to continue to recruit players only UAB, Tulane, South Alabama and Arkansas State want. I now expect Mullen to be out-coached and out-recruited by Hugh Freeze and TSUN. I now have come to expect that Mullen has completely forgot all of the offensive creativity he learned while at Bowling Green, Utah and Florida. For some unknown reason, Mullen now runs a Sly Croom type West Coast Offense.

Sadly, the "Adversity" line of excuse is a common coach-speak term that coaches who are in over their head use to buy time in keeping their jobs. This is the same type of "Adversity" excuse that Sly Croom, Ed Orgeron, Houston Nutt, Lane Kiffin, Derrick Dooley, Joker Phillips, etc used to try and hold on to their jobs.

I'm tired of Mullen's ******** talk, Mullen's ******** excuses, lack of offensive creativity and not recruiting enough skilled players on offense. I would love to be proven wrong on Saturday, but I know he will use excuses for the same old crap product being displayed on our field weekend after weekend...sigh...
