I'm glad I was part of the new attendance record, and I will frame the scoreboard shot and my ticket, and scorecard. With that being said, I also noticed a lot of empty chairbacks, which I know those tickets were undoubtley sold. Compare the super regional against Clemson with Saturday's crowd, when it was literally shoulder to shoulder all the way around. I'm just wondering if anyone else didn't "feel" like it was going to be broken before being announced.

It was a great crowd. Probably top 15 all time. No way it was the most. That goes to clemson 2007. Ive been to a bunch of games at dnf that had larger crowds than saturday

I have to agree it was not nearly as uncomfortable as some of those other record

crowds I've been at. We had chairbacks for Saturday but chose to stay in the outfield the entire game. Others probably did the same.

SBW last year felt more crowded. The Saturday regional crowd last year, though, was off the charts. When they announced that at 13-something, I knew they were just guessing or had some other reason.

There were still a good 400 empty chairbacks Saturday. Yeah, those are already paid, but it generally reflect the overall numbers.

Clemson 07 had people without tickets in the game. The people at the gate went home with extra cash that day. I saw a few walk up and say "i don't have a ticket but here's some cash" and get let in.

I can attest to the Saturday crowd at Regional. I would venture to say there was 16,000+ there but they couldn't report that because the SFD would have shut it down. I believe that was the reasoning anyway. Supposedly SFD had only rated DNF at 15,000 or so. Anything over that and the fire chief sends in the water cannons to disperse the crowds.

Yes it was the fire marshal at the clinching Clemson game that gave between 700-1000 fans the option of going into the Hump to watch the game on that 1978 Emerson television set (sans rabbitears) hanging over the court or else get away somewhere away from the crowd and watch at a Motorcoach, bar, dorm, etc.. It was a good thing to, it was like 97 at first pitch and with the way they were packed into and onto each other in the bleachers like sardines so it didn't take long for things to boil over. I know I saw at least 6 ppl taken away on stretchers throughout the game and that was just on the 3rd base bleachers. Not long after first pitch of that game there was probably 700-1000 standing bunched together in the chair back/grandstand section. That number was less than a 100 Saturday.

Yes, there were more people at Clempsun 07

but the way they counted tickets was different then. Lots of people did not get counted at that game. According to the B&B Show, Bob Carskadon said the way they counted the tickets this Saturday was 100% legit. Take it for what it's worth. I doubt the University would purposefully twist the numbers.

Personally, I believe that we officially set the record this Saturday. But the actual record was set that hot *** Saturday in June 07.

SBW last year felt more crowded.

100% correct! I sit out in center and last year, you couldn't even walk down the road behind the trailers during the game it was so crowded. On down in left and right fields it may have been super crowded but Saturday was just like any other good-weather SEC weekend in center.
