If that's true, then the NCAA is in possession of damning evidence - not just Rogers singing.

At this point there's no reason for them to not play Cam, unless the NCAA is in their ear telling them they might want to sit him.

Here's the question though, if you feel that you're going to get 17'ed down the road anyways, do you ride it out and enjoy the fun of a BCS run?

If it turns out he is ineligible then all they have done to this point is mute and it does not matter. So why sit him? Just let him play and if it pans out in their favor they are good, if things go bad for them, hey they had nothing to lose anyways.

I am with Big D on this one. Why would they sit Cam? If I was Auburn I would ride this thing to the national championship game. If Cam doesn't play, they lose. If he does, they may have to forfeit the game 5 years from now. So what.

If the NCAA says "you probably need to sit him", it might be in there best interest to bench him. They might get a BCS run out of it but have an extra 2 or 3 years worth of bowl ban because of it. I imagine if the NCAA dropped a major hammer on them, the appeal process would not go very smooth if they didn't take the NCAA advice.

Auburn fans won't care if they are stripped of the title and have to sit out the postseason from 2012 to 2020. They will get their pictures taken with the trophy and claim it was a Bama/Florida/LSU/MSU/Santa Claus conspiracy against them.

Auburn's way past the point of no return here. Ifthey sits him, they probably finish 10-2. Why go 10-2 and possibly have to vacate 10 wins when you can try to go 12-0 and possibly have to vacate 12 wins? They won't sit him unless the NCAA forces them to.

If Cam is quickly declared ineligible I assume that means they forfeit their wins. That would give us one loss. Win out and a LSU loss it SEC champ. game.

I am trying to find a silver lining in this. This is the best I've got.

The deal is the chick from the NCAA last night sayd if they know there is some issues, and continue to play them, there will be harsher penalties down the road, meaning, if the ncaa says today, "hey, it aint lookin good" and they play him anyway.......there is all the ncaa needs to constitute a harsher penalty

dont let any dumbass au fan tell you that the ncaa cleared him at the beggining of the years so he is in the clear and they wont get in trouble.....********

We would still have two losses. AU doesn't forfeit wins, they vacate them. That means we don't get credit on our record as having beaten them.

It is doubtful that any ruling would come quickly enough to affect this season. If it did, we would have to win out & LSU would have to lose two games b/c they own the tie breaker over us.

They are going to bench him and take their chances with Georgia. That gives them a couple of weeks to figure out if he will play Bama. If they beat Georgia they still win the west with one loss. That then gives them more time to figure things out before SEC championship......Probably only minor NCAA fines. Play him and your spent for the next several + years.....
