No way Gottfried even survives this season. I think he will be fired Monday morning if they lose this one. He has used Ron Steele's injury as an excuse for the last 10 years. </p>

Instead we are consistently good with a chance at the tourney every year. I would take that over one good run any day of the week

when he gets outcoached every time we get in it...getting in a zone against Dook and JJ Reddick is still probably the dumbest thing I think he has ever done

Gottfreid gets out coached on a regular basis these days. So much that he cant even get to the tournament. Sorry, I would still take STans

An SEC championship is. Sorry but Gottfried having a team go on a roll for 2 weeks once in his career isnt enough to trump what stans has done on a consistent basis

keeping Croom and his one good season over a coach that consistently gets us to bowl games?

I'd say that you could make an arguement that Bama's Elite 8 run was just as much a "fluke" since they had to play Stanford which shouldn't have been seeded #1 that year.

Ricky has an overall SEC title- so does Gottfried (2002)
We did win an SEC Tourney and they havent, but the Elite 8 trumps that

I just dont think an SEC West title in basketball or baseball means that much...all that is done for is seeding

Gottfried has had his teams in the NCAA Tourney 7 times in the last 12 years- 5 in a row at Bama- 2002-2006- which is more than Ricky has</p>

Now he is on a downslide and appears to be heading for unemployment, but comparing him to Crooms is pretty stupid</p>

we were talking about what they had accomplished and who's career was better- not who we wanted to be coach...While I can see where there could be confusion (especially by a mental midget like yourself), I have not said I want Gottfried as our coach

that ******** is pointless. Nobody is going to change my mind that winning in the NCAA Tourney is more important than winning a few West titles. Hell, even college basketball itself considers the tourneys more important. How do you get an automatic bid to the NCAA Tourney? You win the damn SEC Tourney.

Ask Georgia about how important the regular season is....they got a trophy and a ticket to the Dance after finishing tied for last in the SEC during the regular season

Heard Bobby Knight say last year that winning a conference title took better coaching than winning a couple of games in March. I'm gonna go with him and not some former hall monitor at Charleston Middle School.

I agree conference titles are very important and I am proud of the one that Ricky won.</p>

And I was hall monitor at the HS, never was lucky enough to work in a middle school with such wonderful spawns of people like you</p>

You've spent the last 2 days telling everyone how important the Elite 8 is and how much more memorable it is than winning regular season titles. Nobody outside the school involved remembers who was in the Elite 8 five years ago, you idiot.
