Auburn could eventually cry mercy

With more and more juice flowing almost daily, Auburn couldn't possibly fight this until the bitter end. At some point, they have to recognize the world of **** they are in and cut their losses. They could come out and admit some new internal finding that Cam's recruitment broke NCAA rules, and that they are suspending Cam, working with the NCAA yada yada yada - basically start trying to make nice with the NCAA to lessen the wrath that is headed their way.

at this point, they might as well play Cam, win the National Championship, and just enjoy the moment.

It's not like they haven't gone undefeated and had it taken away by probation before anyway.

.....they'd face the fullest extent that the NCAA could penalize them. Is the death penalty on the table? I think it is not since they haven't been on probation in a long while. Regardless, what they are guilty of is far worse than what USC did and USC got hammered mightily.

If they started cooperating, I'm guessing the pain could be 50% less.

Without Cam Newton, I don't think they beat Georgia or Alabama. Their defense is bad. Cam is literally outscoring people.

On the other hand, they play him, they'll just have to forfeit the games, like the others.

I'm just saying that if I'm an Auburn fan right now, and one of the few rational ones, I would rather play these last two rivalry games with Cam and probably win and then forfeit later rather than just go ahead and concede the games. At least I would have the memory of a win.

I agree completely with the NCAA can take away our victories, but can't take away our memories theory.

I'm a Memphis grad....I wouldn't have traded Derrick Rose for nothing.

I can't think of a case ever before where something has come out like this in mid-season. How can the NCAA or the SEC for that matter not step in and do something IF they have this concrete evidence. It would make Cam ineligible and vacate all their victories RIGHT NOW.

I'm just glad I'm not the one making these decisions. This will be talked about forever.

If I'm Auburn, I play the kid the rest of the year and do exactly what you said.

I'm thinking LSU is playing in Atlanta on December 4th
