That is all
Is there any thought he might be fired? He has done pretty well at Auburn but this year is really really bad.

I don't know. Their SEC schedule has been brutal, but if they don't finish with some positives against weaker competition, Cohen is in a very tough spot.

Probably deserves to get another year but everyone doesn't think like we do.

So Foxhall is at Auburn now. I didn’t realize that’s where he landed after we canned him. He’s not the pitching coach but the “director of player development” or something like that. When I saw him Friday night, I couldn’t help but wonder, “is he the reason they are sucking it up this year?”.

No he’ll be back. His run from 2017-2023 earned him a lot of goodwill. Also his boss is his old buddy.

You're reading something into this I didn't intend. Simply taking joy in their record.

I do hate it for Butch though.
Fair enough. I saw this in the middle of a number of posts, tweets, etc. talking about how we can only beat bad teams and thought it was being posted in the same vein. Apologies if I unfairly maligned you.

Two CWS appearances has garnered some good will. I think he probably gets another a year, but man that is a rough, rough record. I'm sure he's feeling some pressure, but to echo a few other posters in the thread most of their fanbase doesn't even know they have a baseball team and John Cohen is the AD. I'd be shocked if he were let go.

They got the short end of the stick with the schedule this year. I mean I don’t think you can possibly have a tougher SEC schedule than they’ve had so far.

@ Vandy
Arkansas
@ A&M
Kentucky
Tennessee
@ State

Literally all of the Top 4 teams in the league that will be national seeds and then us and Vandy on the road. Now 2-16 is probably worse than they should be but their record was never going to be good in this stretch.

No worries. I'm not generally a **** on the Dawgs at all costs poster.

There may be 10 families with children on the team that care about Auburn baseball. Maybe.
This ^^^. I know a pretty big Auburn booster. We were talking a few years ago, probably Butch’s third or fourth year, and i mentioned Butch in conversation and he was like, who? He knows 75% of the football team by their first name but didn’t have a clue who their baseball coach was, nor did he care.

Yeah, it's a ridiculously tough run of weekends. Basically the most difficult possible SEC schedule through 18 games based on current league standings.

And they've had 5 one run and 2 two run losses.

I know a few people well connected at Auburn. When they hired Cohen, an alarming amount had no idea he coached baseball here. People forget Butch had to raise money for a shed at Auburn. The university refused to give him money.

This thread is making it very clear to me why Rowdey Jordan chose Starkville.

Good lord - They played #2, #1, #4 and #3 in a row. Plus a ranked Vandy and a ranked State, away. That's brutal.
