Does it surprise anyone else that Auburn is still not ranked this week? After this weekend, there isn't much debate that Auburn is the second most impressive team in the west, but they still don't even crack the top 25? why?

I think they're the 2nd best team in the west as well.

Just goes to show why there shouldn't be preseason polls. Its baffling to me that UM can be in the top 25 still and Auburn not. In the grand scheme I dont guess it matters that much, but they should be ranked right now.

They've beaten:

La Tech
MState
WVU
Ball State

Sure, they've got one conference win and W over WVU (I suppose they are considered a quality opponent). Further, they have played all four opponents at home. But, if you think they are getting any love from the media for beating MSU in Auburn, then think again.

Next week they visit Neyland stadium and a win will get them ranked.

College Football News ranks all FBS teams after the weekend. After last weekend they had MSU at 66. Today, we are 52. They have Auburn at 5. The comment was "that win over Mississippi State in Week 2 looks really strong now". Sounds like MState is beginning to get a little love. I took it as them saying that we were better than what was originally thought. Oh how I'd love to have a do over with AU.

that a team like Auburn, who has looked good in every game they have played, can be unranked while a team like California that received a Starkville-style gang rape this weekend can be.
