Auburn/Rappahannock state final -- please post set scores once it's completed

Congratulations to Auburn.
Wow, what a turnaround for them this season.
Auburn had lost their superstar player to graduation, struggled some at the beginning of the season for the 1st time in over three years, went 0-3 v Giles in the regular season & districts, and lost to Rappahannock in September at home in Auburn.
Then they knocked off Giles twice and Rappahannock in the region/state playoffs and state championship to win another State Title.
Well done. Impressive.

What a great season for the Rappahannock Lady Raiders. The Raiders went 30-2 on the season (only losses to a 4A school and the 4-time state champ Auburn).
This group of Raiders (5 current seniors had made the Varsity team together as Freshman) gave us all a heck of a run the last 4 years.
The girls won over 100 games together during these last 4 years.
Sadly, the Lady Raiders could never quite accomplish their main goal of a state title but I sincerely doubt that their amazing accomplishments will be matched by any local program (at least for a very long time).
Lastly, thank you to the Holiday Inn Express in Salem for being such fantastic hosts for about 50 Raider fans staying there this weekend. A grand tailgating party was even held there as folks awaited the big game. Great hotel and staff.

This post is mainly for the folks interested in local Northern Neck volleyball and sports etc.
The new Rappahannock Times and their legendary high school sportswriter, Chris Rose, put out a great final piece on the Lady Raiders long quest to win a state championship (coming up a tad short against Salem experienced Auburn High).
The Rapp Times listed many of the Raiders' accomplishments and interviews RHS Coach Patterson about her Fab Five, their career and impact on the local volleyball scene.
I will add a few accomplishments that I remember as well.

Champion of the Auburn Invitational Tournament (held at Auburn High)
Champion of the King George Invitational Tournament (held at KGHS, 9-10 teams from the Fredericksburg area - mostly 4A and 5A schools competing with Rappahannock being the only 1A school in the tourney).
Coolest part for me was when several players from a 5A school came over to the Rapp girls afterwards and asked nicely "we don't mean any disrespect, but how the heck did a 1A school just win this tournament? Amazing."

Many individual honors including usually 100% of the team All-Academic
During this time, RCPS has added a middle school volleyball team and the JV program went undefeated this past season as well. Volleyball games have become some of the most heavily attended and boisterous local sporting crowd events as well.
