Hey guys, can anyone please provide me with a link confirming or at least simply discussing the situation with Auburn "donating" 200,000 dollars to Cam Newton's father's church? Or however much it was...Not sure if it was true or not but I bet it was and I need a link pretty quickly discussing or confirming that it happened or may have happened. Thank you!

be sitting back and withholding such a tidbit of information as this? If ANY Six Packer had even a hint that there was any truth to this, it would have been discussed to no end after The Mule signed and then again the week after the loss, and if not before by EVERY Bama website on the net. If I missed that discussion, then place me in company with the NCAA investigative team and I will buy Cam a new scooter.

I have heard the same rumor from several different people. Can't be proven, but a few people claim that it was a$250,000 donation to the church. Cash donation.

and, from what I hear now, its all of a sudden 12-15 employees and contracts all through Georgia, NC, SC, and Tn.....

I can't tell you where I heard it, bc I have forgotten.....but I heard it and it stuck out....

that owns a trucking company and lost a big contract all of a sudden. Then he found out who he lost it to.

A player like Newton costs more than a quarter mil. I guarantee you seven figures is coming from this, but every bit of it is indirect.

If I own a small business, and I need widgets. Widgets are being sold by two people. One of those people have a Heisman trophy quality quarterback that is interested in MSU. I have other MSU grad buddies that need widgets. We meet at Brents for a burger and decide we should buy our widgets from the guy who has a Heisman trophy quality quarterback that is interested in MSU. Have we committed an NCAA violation?

That's what happened. There may have been some anonymous donations to the church, but the real money is being funneled completely legitimately through the trucking company.

FWIW I have seen the facebook page of some one of his former teammates discussing what Cecil got- I went back the next day to see what had been added and the entire page had disappeared. Out of curiosity, I checked a few weeks back when we played Auburn and the page was back up, but the 2 posts discussing the $200k had been deleted- HOWEVER... I copied the originalthread because frankly, I could not believe they were discussing itand here are the two "deleted posts"...(Yes, I removed the name of the player who owned the page)...

If anyone had any evidence to any of this, why wouldn't you spend 2 to 4 hours putting something together that resembles logical explanations and sequence of events. Post it on here for everyone to read. It would be entertaining. It would get it out to the public. Then everyone could email it repetitively to their favorite news site.

Without any evidence it just sounds like Ole Miss.

is currently bringing to Auburn I would say they got him pretty cheap whatever they paid. Hard to put a value on the publicity and marketing a Heisman trophy candidate brings to your school.

Why don't you guys just call up ole Cecil and ask him. Type Cecil Newton College Park, GA and voila.

I think he is also the pastor of the Holy Zion Center for Deliverance church in Newnan, GA

Holy Zion Center of Deliverance is moving forward with plans to renovate its
building to meet the city's building code.

Bishop Cecil Newton, pastor of the Temple Avenue church, and Melvin Cooper, the
general contractor for the project, attended the Newnan City Council meeting on
Monday evening. Holy Zion is located at 115 Temple Ave. in an industrial
building that formerly housed a building supply business.

but it appears that article was written some 3 months before the last minute switch. I dont recall when exactly, but I seem to recall Auburn coming on late with Newton. Maybe we can run with Dye working behind the scenes and setting up the funds well before Auburn officially offered Superman. Does that sound black-helicopter-blue-chips enough for everyone?
