Auburn's offense worse than Croom's?

As a whole they've been equally painful to watch if not more painful...it's a Croom-like version of the spread.

I agree that we should change our offense up, but Auburn changed and I believe Tubby was quoted last week at saying that they were going back to power football. At least he tried though

I agree that you should change based on the personnel you have but Tubby basically has done what Croom has done and the square peg in round hold thing just doesn't work. Auburn's problems of late have been just like MSU - their QB's stink.

In the SEC it's near impossible to win big without at least a slightly above avg QB unless you dominate in other areas such as our defense in the last 90's.

Long term will Tubby's change work? Possibly if he recruits those types of players that make such a system work - and he is doing that. But how long will his patience hold and by the time he gets those players will defenses have caught up to the spread?

Most teams win with either superior talent, mediocre talent, but running something unorthodox that most teams don't run (ala Navy last year) or mediocre talent and superior coaching. More and more teams are running the spread so defenses see it more and thus it takes superior talent to run it - a lot of teams that have been long-time supporters of the spread are struggling more this year - like WV for instance. Their numbers aren't near what they used to be. FL's offense doesn't look as impressive, Louisville is struggling. Some teams still make it work quite well, but defenses are catching up a little.

I honestly don't think Crxxm/McCorvey have been the dumbest offensive coaches in the SEC this year. That honor goes to Tubberville/Franklin. Auburn went back to what works for them tonight, but then completely abandoned it after the first quarter. I've said all year that their running backs can't run east/west and their QBs can't beat anybody throwing the ball. They have to run the ball north/south. And they couldn't have tried to do that on more than 5 plays the entire second half. And it wasn't because Vandy was stopping it.

as the sunrise. Like ours. It's really pathetic. Did Tony Franklin become an idiot overnight?

Their playcalling seems to be just like ours. I don't kow how many times I've watched them throw a three yard pass on third and 10. And what about that 2 pt. play against Auburn last week?

Why does Tubs keep playing Chris Todd at QB? He has the arm strength of a sixth grader! Is it a B/W thing or is the excuse that Todd has a better understanding of the offense?

Because as bad as Todd is, Kodi Burns as a full-time starter is worse. His decision making and passing accuracy are terrible.

Their offensive coordinator is in over his head. Look for him to join Auburn's OC as 1-year hires.

is Phat Phil.

Crompton didn't play yesterday, and they managed to roll up a massive 13 points on NIU.

and they will probably beat our *** by about the same score (assuming we don't give them some easy scores).

losing that game bothers me as much as losing the LaTech game. Auburn is not a good team and we should have won that game at home.

I was there yesterday and I was wondering if that was our guys out there in orange uniforms. It was like watching a not quite so horrible version of our game with Auburn - they gave NIU every chance to win that game but NIU just wasn't good enough. Tennessee couldn't run the ball at all and their WR's had a bunch of dropped passes. Stephens didn't look too bad though - he was on target with a lot of his throws and seemed to make decent decisions. Barring injury he should be who we see at QB in a couple of weeks.

I'm hardly an optimist when it comes to MSU football, but we have a good chance of beating UT if we actually play without our heads up our butts and/or Croom doesn't screw us up. Of course, those are always the big questions.</p>
