Yikes!
SF almost gets sacked, escapes, completes a pass, breaks 5 tackles and scores a 70 yard TD. Unsportsmanlike on SF tacked onto the extra point. Conversion no good.

Another AC interception results in a SF drive and last second TD. Conversion fails.
26-14 halftime.

Controversy on the clock management in the booth. SF doesn’t start the clock until the ball is in the air. Time should have expired or close to it. A little home cookin at Kuhn Memorial Stadium.

All SF needs to do is run clock to win but they elect to pass and throw a pick six. Extra point blocked.

Gonna be a wild finish. AC defense playing out of their minds. Hitting hard. Stops SF.

Sparty punts down to the 1 yard line. 99 yards to go in 6 minutes.

First play from scrimmage, refs call holding in the end zone for a Safety. You can’t make this stuff up.

28-20 SF.

This doesn’t make me a believer. Ac may do okay in 1a but they don’t look like a state champ, even in 1a. Will they even make it with 5 wins?

How bad is QB injury....and what about the back up?? Why wildcat O? Only curious cause I know the old JV QB is at YORKVILLE now .

Hope AC QB is ok. They are still a major threat in 1A.

SF should end 7-2. IC might be ugly, they have a way to go to compete with them. But they have lots of Fr/Soph/Jr playing. Things looking up in Sparta. Nice to see Bob getting the program turned around.

SF is going to be good next year. Only 16 seniors on a 48-man varsity roster. Will have 21 seniors next year. They have good team speed and know how to distribute the ball and keep defenses guessing.

I don't think SF will make a deep post season run. Probably a 2nd round out, but the playoff experience and extra weeks of practice/game prep will help them immeasurably and carry into next season.

AC should have beaten SF by 2 scores.
  • The near sack/multiple missed tackles pass play for TD is dumb luck.
  • AC failure to convert 4th and 1 from the 3 is unforgivable.
  • AC shut out SF in 2nd half without two of their top defensive players.
  • Refs on the field refused to hold the individual accountable who was managing the clock in the SF booth. Running the clock when it should have been stopped, then stopping the clock when it should have been running (on multiple occasions) both instances in the favor of SF. The kids don't deserve that non-sense.
  • The QB injury was a major factor.
AC should be at full strength for the playoffs. The adversity makes you stronger and these kids maintained their composure, even in the loss.
