So, everyone has played 4 series. Here are the averages of each team's 4 opponents so far

Mississippi State---- 2.98
Auburn------------- 3.04
Tennessee--------- 3.06
Ole Miss------------ 3.08
Arkansas------------ 3.24
Georgia------------- 3.32
Florida-------------- 3.50
Kentucky----------- 3.63
LSU---------------- 3.83
Texas A&M--------- 4.08
South Carolina------ 4.28
Alabama------------- 4.72
Missouri------------ 4.74
Vandy-------------- 4.94

But since Tennessee's ERA at 7.98 is such an outlier (USC, AL, MIZ, and VU were their opponents) I'll do an average of team ERA ranking. For example Arkansas is 1 and Tennessee is 14.

Tennessee----------- 4.5
Mississippi State----- 5.0
Auburn-------------- 5.0
Ole Miss------------- 5.5
Arkansas------------ 6.5
Georgia------------- 7.0
Kentucky----------- 7.25
Florida-------------- 7.75
South Carolina------ 7.75
LSU---------------- 9.0
Missouri------------ 9.0
Alabama------------ 10.0
Texas A&M--------- 10.25
Vanderbilt---------- 10.5

Texas A&M is 6-6 against really bad pitching. We need to spend half a practice this week on bunt defense alone because if we can take those free outs that they give away our ERA will improve this weekend. Sweep we come!

I agree. I'm thinking we get a rare road sweep this weekend. Maybe the Bears just aren't that good, but I have no clue how the heck A&M took 2/3 in Oxford.

We need at least 5 wins in our next 6 SEC games.

How do we

fare in offensive categories vs our opponents compared to the other teams that have faced our opponents?

That's interesting. I like the matchup but we better hope Sammy Frost doesn't 17 it up over at 3rd against all of the bunts.

No reason

to be an *** about it. I figured since you have plenty of free time and were looking up stats you could do this.

I can't believe how much of a jerk you can be...
I actually like some of the info you bring to the table, and was interested in this thread right up until you showed your behind to Rambis. I'd just as soon you disappear if this is what we can expect from now on. Give it a rest, man.
Look it up

Worth noting that this is AFTER LSU absolutely destroyed UK's pitching this weekend, which had previously been excellent(and I expect it to continue to be IMO). This gap was much larger prior to that happening.

I won't say that we have to sweep, but we badly, badly need to get 2 of 3 and a sweep would be nice.

I don't take requests. Obviously you aren't familiar to Rambis requesting that I write a book on every hitter's approach at the plate last year when he was being an ******* in by bunt thread. So... I returned the favor. Go 17 yourself.

It was

mainly to prove a point that certain, simple stats do not take into account a wide array of factors.

We're hitting .196 with the bases loaded.
We're hitting .233 with two outs.
Leadoff hitters are hitting .315 against us.
Opponents are hitting .279 against us with 2 outs.

In SEC play, we're hitting .249. We're basically 10th in the SEC in most offensive categories. We've scored 4 runs or less in 9 of 12 SEC games.
LSU and Arkansas are the only top staffs in the SEC that we've faced.

The numbers don't

look so bad when you look what other SEC squads have done against LSU, UK, Ark, and UF.

Looks to me like our sphincter draws up like a newborn's nut sack when the pressure is on.

LSU has played no teams with a winning SEC record.
Ark pitching has been most impressive, facing two teams in the SEC with winning records.
FL has played one team with a winning SEC record.

I'm quite familiar with the history of this board, you sanctimonious hack. It would seem that you could occasionally rise above what you see as antagonism from someone when you do start a thread that may actually be worth reading, as this one WAS. And I don't take requests, either.

Well

we've outperformed (offensively) UK against LSU, USC and Alabama vs Arkansas, OM (runs scored) and UK/Vandy (hits) vs UF. That was my point. I'm not trying to make it out that we're the second coming of the greatest offense ever. However, when people are saying that we are one of the worst in the leagues based on current stats, it can be misleading. We've played a pretty difficult schedule to this point, in the league.
