Has the university ever considered showing away games on the Jumotron at DWS? I think it would be awesome if they would do that. This may have been dicussed in the past, but I think they would have a pretty good turnout if they would give it a try. Thoughts?

As hologram technology increases (remember the Tupac hologram) I wonder if it will ever be possible to have advanced cameras and projectors etc to be able to project the players from one stadium on to the field at another. Imagine watching an away game "live" at DWS.

Bored at work

I wonder how much it costs to power that thing for an entire game.

Can't be cheap.

Hell, tell EA Sports to create an on the field hologram game that we can play from the sideline. That would be the tits

I actually still follow Greg Byrne on Twitter and he answered this question from an Arizona fan. Basically it would be really expensive. Not only would they have to turn on the Jumbotron and lights if it is a night game, they would have to pay event staff to do their thing. And it is not like they can charge you to watch a game broadcast by ESPN, CBS, or anyone for that matter. I am pretty sure there are some licensing issues with them making money from that.

If they show movies on the thing, I don't see why they wouldn't try it for a football game. Definitely a cool idea. And as far as the staff costs, that could be kept to a minimum - it's not like you're going to have 55k show up. I'm sure there would be licensing issues, even if the school doesn't charge for admission.

I would REALLY be interested if they opened up the field, so that you could basically tailgate and watch the game on the big screen. I realize you can't let the field get torn up for the next week, but it would be a cool thing to try for a big away game, like Bama or LSU.

They have done this before...

and the fact that few now about it probably means it was not a success. I believe it was two years ago when they showed a few games on the tron.
