From the Iowa board. Thoughts on the impact on each team based on returnees/lost guys.

  1. Penn State - only 25 lettermen lost, 31 return; note: top TE, top 3 receivers and top player on each level of defense departed!
  2. Iowa - only 26 lettermen lost, 41 return week 2 and week 5 games at Iowa State and against Indiana will set tone!
  3. Rutgers - only 26 lettermen lost, 40 return, including former Minnesota and second-year starter QB Athan Kaliakimanis back for former Minnesota OC Kirk Ciarrocca, who was Penn State's OC in 2020.
  4. Illinois - only 27 lettermen lost, 48 return, including QB Luke Altmyer; week 2 and week 4 games at Duke and Indiana, respectively, set tone!
  5. Northwestern - only 27 (28) lettermen lost, return 36; former SMU starting QB Preston Stone becomes QB1, with former QB1 Jack Lausch moving on to baseball.
  6. Michigan State - only 28 lettermen lost, return 34, including QB Aiden Chiles and super sophomore WR Nick Marsh for 2nd year HC Jonathan Smith.
  7. Wisconsin - only 29 lettermen lost, return 38 as Luke Fickell in year 3 faces possibly the nation's toughest schedule. Former Maryland QB1 Billy Edwards is QB1 under new OC Jeff Grimes, who joins the Big Ten, after one season at KU as OC, after Baylor and BYU for multiple seasons.
  8. Oregon - lose 31 lettermen from 12-0 regular season and Big Ten title team, 32 return; as Dan Lanning enters his 4th season with Dante Moore moving from backup to QB1!
  9. Ohio State - lose 32 lettermen from national title team, return 35 with a QB room making first collegiate start in '25!
  10. Indiana - lose 34 lettermen, 25 return as 2nd year coach Curt Cignetti rides the portal again with new junior QB Fernando Mendoza from Cal for OC Mike Shanahan.
  11. Washington - lose 34 letterman, return 34 as Judd Fisch enters year 2 with sophomore QB Desmond Coleman and former Arizona senior RB1 Jonah Coleman reunited with his former HC.
  12. Minnesota - lose 34 letterman, return 48 as PJ Fleck enters year 9 in Dinkytown.
  13. Maryland - lose 34 lettermen, return 27 as Mike Locksley entering his 7th season since coming back coming off a 4-8 season.
  14. Nebraska - lose 38 letterman, return 38 as Matt Rhule enters 3rd year in Lncoln with 2nd-year starting QB Dylan Raiola with the equivalent of 10 starters back using portal. Only 5 back on defense though and new DC is getting only his 2nd full job after one year as a full-time DC over a decade ago.
  15. UCLA - lose 39 lettermen, return 27 and 2nd year HC Deshaun Foster and new OC Tino Sunseri from IU as co-OC QB coach welcomes Tennessee QB1 Nico Iamaleava this fall, along with his freshman brother to the QB room.
  16. USC - lose 44 lettermen, return 31 as Lincoln Riley enters year 4 after 11-3, 8-5 and 7-6 though he will lean on 2nd year DC D'Anton Lynn to benefit from another year to fix the defensive woes on the Trojan side of LA!
  17. Michigan - lose 46 lettermen, return 54, with 14 projected starters back entering Sherrone Moore's 2nd season!
  18. Purdue - lose 47 letteemen, return 16 under new HC Barry Odom, who coached last two seasons at UNLV.

Guess this thread isn't about a big comeback from this group

but in any case "Rutgers - only 26 lettermen lost, 40 return," is pretty impressive in my opinion

Purdue Chicken salted the Earth of the last regime. They're going to completely suck *** this year before they start to show signs of improvement.

So- the model Indiana used last year has to be a rinse and repeat every year(BTW-Rinse and repeat by shampoo companies in the 70’s, has to be the most profitable marketing ever)
I don’t want to have a team that needs to change every year.
