Congrats to JCA. The southwest suburbs are always better with the Hilltoppers in the news for the better. Just a start for another string of playoff appearances?

While some may have missed you, I have not. This, however, does not keep me from fulfilling my duties to extend the most earnest congratulations to members of JCA's football program, you personally, and the JCA flock, all of whom have waited patiently for the Hilltoppers' return to the state playoffs.

High school football and the state playoffs aren't complete without JCA involved.

Heard Kenyatta W. was injured earlier in the year....what was the injury and is he back? If so, how has he done this year? He is a class act and great kid. Wish nothing but the best for him.

He is indeed.
ACL injury Q1 of week #1 game.
Truly a shame.
He seems poised to make a strong return as a Senior next year.

You are a clever man, but when we were confronted with an "empty nest," we sold our home, fled several blocks away, and took up residence in a townhome. While the wife and I always enjoyed caring for the lawn and the flower bed on our own, we did grow tired of the detached, single-car garage and the upkeep of an older structure. Although we now pay monthly assessments to have a service perform the lawn-care task for us, we don't regret the move. Our front lawn now, as you can imagine, consists of a four-by-four section of grass and three bushes.

I have about a decade, at least on you, and I'm getting tired of climbing stairs and running my snow blower.

Do you find living in a town-home to be any noisier than a single home?

I don't see any one floor models in the new developments? They all seem to be three stories. What did you find?

I think it is a decade exactly separating us, but I will take your word here.

During our search for new quarters, she did most of the looking and made all the decisions. We briefly deliberated a move north to Lake Forest to be closer to her sister and brother-in-law, but remained in Winnetka because she insisted on being close to her offices. While we searched, we rarely found a ranch-style townhome, and never one to her liking.

We have not discovered any disturbances in a townhome as opposed to living in our old neighborhood. Despite picking a new home right off Green Bay Road, the quiet din of traffic scarcely qualifies as disruption. While neither one of us have any difficulty navigating a flight of stairs, I do admit I prefer a service clearing snow and leaves from the drive and walks.
