A good time had by all, despite the 2 blowouts. Hoping for a classic on Sunday to make up for tonight. Also:

1. UNC chicks are smoking hot.

2. Oklahoma fans - at least the ones sitting around us - were UCF-esque in their douchebaggery.

3. Syracuse fans were all pretty nice. Also, two of their players managed to find Beale Street about 30 minutes after their game.

4. Gonzaga has fugly women and very few fans made the journey to Memphis.

5. "Boomer Sooner" makes "Rocky Top" sound like Beethoven's Fifth. They played it approximately 27,854 times during a 2 hour game.

6. If you've never taken in a game at the Forum, do yourself a favor and come. It's a great place to watch basketball. I would suggest it not be a Grizzlies game, though, unless you like half-empty arenas. Tonight's attendance, though, was 17,500+ and it was loud for the Carolina game.

7. And the folks here are in panic mode that Calipari might be headed to Lexington. Rumor is that there is mutual interest. We shall see.

That is all.

I strongly agree with #1. The talent on that campus is significant. I always enjoy my trips to Chapel Hill. As far as Calapari to Lexington, I too have heard that there is interest from both sides. I won't be surprised either way his decision goes, but the whole UK coaching search will be interesting and something to watch in the coming weeks. A potential twist to it all could be if UK can lure Donovan, it'll be interesting to see where Florida turns now that Grant is in hand at Bama. He was Florida's first choice if Donovan were to leave.

And to add to #1, the Oklahoma cheerleaders weren't so bad either. I'm looking forward to what I hope will actually be a good game on Sunday. Was it you who said you were sitting in 112A?

either way, the sec is looking at a massive coaching talent upgrade. last year replaced brady with johnson. this year could be replacing felton, gottfried, and gillespie with grant, calapari, and ???. that alone should make the sec's rpi shoot up a bit. plus a lot of guys will be coming back.

if there was any chance, grant would still be hanging in the wind waiting for the pieces to fall.

It will be interesting to see who they end up with though,
I think Cal would get into all kinda of trouble up there.

I was in the cheap(er) seats. 219. In fact, to brag on the Forum a bit more, I was 7-8 rows down from the very top of the building and still could see all the action easily. Not a bad seat in the house. Unlike the Pyramid, where if you sat 7 rows from the top, the court was about as big as a slice of bread.

I made my first visit to the Forum last night and I came away impressed. I was also stuck in the top sections and had a great view of the court. OU, UNC, Gonzaga and Syracuse all seemed pretty nice folks. There were quite a few Arkansas fans there though and they still suck. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I hope the tomorrow's game is a good one.
