Back from Nashville

Just got back home from the game. I live about an hour and a half from Nashville. That sucked so bad. Crowd was 90% UK and was great pregame, ready to roll man. It was buzzing in there until the game started. That was the highlight of this night.
The game- Just absolutely terrible. Crowd was waiting to get into it and we just had no reason to cheer at all. Game was over in the first 4 minutes. No effort, no heart. Our offense is painful to watch. Ike and Huff completely dominated us. Body language is absolutely terrible. Our guys do not look like they even care. Can’t hit a shot. Can’t rebound. That was tough to watch. Such a waste of time and money. Crowd started clearing out with about 5 minutes left in the game but we stayed until the bitter end. This isn’t good enough boys

I am sooooo glad I resisted temptation to travel to NYC, Nashville and Atlanta. I have learned (been beaten down) to be very skeptical of the pre-season hype regarding UK. I had my doubts about the roster but had no idea it would be THIS BAD.

Eh wasn’t that bad. Pretty immediately knew it was over. After the first 8 ish possessions of the game it was over.

That’s what was so alarming. Watching it live you could really see these guys did NOT care. There was no fire or effort or anything at all. It looked like a team that was just sleepwalking out there. It was very very obvious. A Gonzaga fan by me said “UK doesn’t even look like they want to play” And he was right

I went to the bathroom at halftime and most of what I heard was people talking about 22 million and how our team didn’t look they even care and how pope just stands there with his arms crossed squinting. After the game, it was basically people saying they are done with this team. That was probably the worst game I’ve ever watched in person. A gonzaga fan I talked to during the game couldn’t believe how little our guys looked like they even cared. At the 8 minute mark of the 1st he just said man I don’t think this UK team even wants to be out there. And he was right that’s what it looked like

I would say it was more than 90% UK like the OP said. It was all blue. Like 97% blue for absolutely no reason at all. This team can kiss my *** honestly. I had to wear that UK gear in Nashville when I left and walked back to our room. Embarrassed

I was at the urinal. Pissing by my fellow UK fans. Was silent. I yelled out well fellas are yall ready to fire Pope? Bunch of older guys they all just kind of laughed it off.. down thirty something with like 7 minutes left they said well I guess we better keep shooting threes that’s our only hope. We shot 400 already might as well shoot 800 was his exact words.

I went to the Champions Classic in 2018 in Indy. My daughter was at UK and I told her not to drive back home to go. She did and Duke dismantled UK. Only basketball game I have ever left with 15+ minutes left.

Basically whats happening is our superstar (Oweh) who is getting paid superstar money, is both putting forth zero effort and also production. If he was so good he could be lazy and still drop 20 that would be fine, but he isn’t so if he is making superstar money he need to be the guy putting in the most effort on the team — he didn’t. He comes cross as the highest paid, laziest, worst performing player on the team. No one on the team csn possibly have any respect for him. How could they?

I heard quite a few mock cheers whenever we cut it to 25 lol. I also heard the sarcastic applause whenever we scored our first basket 9 minutes into the game or whatever it was. The game was already over at that point. It was the worst live performance I’ve ever seen from a UK team. It was shockingly bad

I was expecting to go on a run like we always do. First thing I knew as a fan was the come back cats. Of course we will come back. Even if we don’t win we will come back. Nope. Not even a single run. The best part of the game for me besides the music was the drunk UK fan that looked to be there with his wife and Dad maybe. He kept the whole section entertained. He was yelling what everyone was thinking. I just kept looking at he smiling in agreement.

Sad part is Bridgestone was extremely hospitable towards Kentucky. If you didn’t know any better you would have thought the game was in Lexington. Ik it was basically a home game but they made it seem like it was Rupp. Kept playing all the custom UK videos we used at madness and Kentucky fight song all night.

I can only imagine what that place would have been like if we had a good team.
