Back-up Quarterbacks

I seem to recall many attributed our loss to Vanderbilt to having to play our backup quarterback. Missouri beat us with their backup quarterback in his first start, and Sellers was back as our starter.

I believe Mizzou's starter is Pribula, and he took all the snaps for them at QB against us.?

Pribula was named their starter to start the season. He beat out Horn. Horn played in the second half of the first game because they were smoking Central Arkansas and then got hurt. Pribula has started all their games and is much better than our backups to Sellers.

Remove Sellers from the equation on Saturday night and Missouri beats us by 30pts with ease.

He is currently 80+% of the offense. That's the primary issue at the moment.

That would make too much sense. Better to throw them to wolves with Zero game experience next year. Sink or swim. Our coaching staff is maddening. Design a few scripted plays for them - including passes - it can't hurt at this point. But once again, I realize that makes entirely too much sense and God knows, we can't have that here at Carolina. We pretend we have something to lose......we don't.

I'll take an 80 percent Sellers over Doty. Woods is more than likely a redshirt candidate. I'm curious about Noland but I'm not convinced he's setting the world on fire if he's behind Doty currently.

Pribula entered their opening game on the second play of the season, as their starter, Horn, got injured on play #1. Pribula then played the remainder of the game, putting up big numbers. He then started the Kansas game. Then the cupcake game before Carolina. So, technically, our game was his 3rd start.

Why does anyone fuss with redshirts now with the transfer portal? You'd think a mid-tier school would no longer have the luxury.

There is absolutely zero reasons why they should be given Doty 2nd team reps. They should be building for the future not for someone who’s been here six years and has accomplished nothing.

Yep, their back up qb did one heck of a job giving the ball to a rb.

He had his moments, but don’t act like we got beat by their backup qb. We got beat because we could not run the ball and tackled like a flag football team.
