One of my family members back then was very “familiar” with the team. We had a starter who fractured a vertebrae in his neck. Tom’s question to the orthopedic surgeon literally was “can he play Saturday?”. Now in theory there are fractures of vertebral processes that aren’t that big of a deal other than pain but….

My family member knew Brook well. The type of lung injury Brook had heals very quickly.
