I remember players siting out a game with a bad hamstring. I think...
but I'm not sure about being out of action for weeks.
is this normal?

and is this yet another reason to get a real good qb out of the portal?
is this something that can go on and on and on into next year?

TJ is practicing actually hasn’t missed a practice. We are getting another QB out of the portal.

The thing about hamstring injuries is that if you don’t actually rest them, they will linger. They're really easy to re-aggravate. Heck, if we'd pulled TJ sooner vs. Iowa he may be 100% by now, but decent chance he made it a bit worse by playing on it the rest of the game.

A severe tear or rupture is obviously a different story, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.

It didn't look severe. TJ played with it. And now with the extended practice time, he should be OK. But after watching the last two games, NU is going to have to go after another QB in the portal. And for God sake, TJ is not a running QB. TJ's an RPO guy who CAN run, but these fans I talk to (not on this board) seem to think he's Mickey Joseph or Tommie Frazier.

If his injury were severe he would not be practicing and it's been weeks since he last played with a pull. It's all pure speculation on the part of we the fans about TJ's health at this point. I would guess if all goes well he will be well enough to run the offense Holgorsen wants for this game against Utah.

Not sure it’s fair to judge him against 2 of the toughest D’s we played all year after having 1 full game under his belt, and his game against pedostate wasn’t all that bad. Not saying we shouldn’t be getting another qb, but TJ is solid and I’m not out on him. Agree with the RPO

I tried telling this to anyone who would listen. Hrs NOT a "running" QB. He's a guy who can extend a play and a guy who is capable of making a couple plays with his legs.

I think it wad Dingle who replied to me like I didn't know WTF I was talking about when I said this exact same thing lol.

You are right. I hope our fans understand that.

TJ is a very mobile guy. He’s not a guy you want to call 10-12 designed QB runs for. He would get killed. He looks to me like a 4.7 guy annd quick enough to make some guys miss. You wouldn’t want him getting hit by safeties and linebackers very often.
