I remember players siting out a game with a bad hamstring. I think...
but I'm not sure about being out of action for weeks.
is this normal?

and is this yet another reason to get a real good qb out of the portal?
is this something that can go on and on and on into next year?

TJ is practicing actually hasn’t missed a practice. We are getting another QB out of the portal.

The thing about hamstring injuries is that if you don’t actually rest them, they will linger. They're really easy to re-aggravate. Heck, if we'd pulled TJ sooner vs. Iowa he may be 100% by now, but decent chance he made it a bit worse by playing on it the rest of the game.

A severe tear or rupture is obviously a different story, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.

It didn't look severe. TJ played with it. And now with the extended practice time, he should be OK. But after watching the last two games, NU is going to have to go after another QB in the portal. And for God sake, TJ is not a running QB. TJ's an RPO guy who CAN run, but these fans I talk to (not on this board) seem to think he's Mickey Joseph or Tommie Frazier.

If his injury were severe he would not be practicing and it's been weeks since he last played with a pull. It's all pure speculation on the part of we the fans about TJ's health at this point. I would guess if all goes well he will be well enough to run the offense Holgorsen wants for this game against Utah.

Not sure it’s fair to judge him against 2 of the toughest D’s we played all year after having 1 full game under his belt, and his game against pedostate wasn’t all that bad. Not saying we shouldn’t be getting another qb, but TJ is solid and I’m not out on him. Agree with the RPO

I tried telling this to anyone who would listen. Hrs NOT a "running" QB. He's a guy who can extend a play and a guy who is capable of making a couple plays with his legs.

I think it wad Dingle who replied to me like I didn't know WTF I was talking about when I said this exact same thing lol.

You are right. I hope our fans understand that.

TJ is a very mobile guy. He’s not a guy you want to call 10-12 designed QB runs for. He would get killed. He looks to me like a 4.7 guy annd quick enough to make some guys miss. You wouldn’t want him getting hit by safeties and linebackers very often.

Use Dylan's money on the DL..

We will get better overall value.

Use the NFL model.

Recruit a QB give all the money to the rest of the team

What's TJ weigh, like 180 maybe. He tried to be tough in the iowa game by not wearing much extra clothing and ended up looking cold and frail. He's got talent but he's not a dual threat.

He is a "mobile " QB not a "running" QB. It's different. TJ isn't beating any good teams with his legs. "Running" QBs are capable of doing that.

That 4.7 40 maybe close to accurate. It wouldn't shock me if he went 4.6 tbh. But it still remains the same. Hes what I would call "slippery" . You guys watched him in that 2nd or 3rd game juke the guy down on the goal line and lost your collective minds lol.

TJ has a chance to be good. His legs can help him but they aren't good enough to do it alone. He has to be an accurate thrower as well . RPOs and moving pockets would help him a lot. He's a threat to pick up a few where Dylan was never a true RPO. I think people watched Dylan so long when they seen TJ get in he looked like Darian Hagen in 1989 in comparison lol.

The RBs have to carry the load, but TJ or a QB like that is always a threat to take off on a rollout or scramble, or pull the ball and get some yards. I think that is an offense that suits Holgerson as a play caller. But the RBs have to be there. I think Nelson and Mozee have more upside than several posters, but I think you would want to pick up someone who could be RB1 from the portal. Those two will get their audition in a couple of weeks.

I’m more concerned about his accuracy and his decision making. than his feet.

But he’s got more melanin than Raiola. That’s all they see

He really didn't play that bad against Iowa either. Yeah he makes a few freshman hiccups a game, but that's to be expected. I think he has more upside than Dylan and places the ball better than Dylan on deep throws.
