Ogilvie: "Mr. Buttermaker, if I go in, we lose the game. As itstands now, we still have a chance."

Buttermaker: "A damn good chance, so be on yourtoes. Now get the hell out there."

substitute Cohen for Buttermaker (obviously) and a certain pitcher for Ogilvie.

Why doesCohen keep sending the guy to the mound in pressure situations when henever has any success?Ever?

And I know you don't "want" too....but sometimes you gotta do what it takes to win. And 8-10 pitches would not have ruined his arm. Besides, I'm not even saying it had to be Holder...Bracewell was available and a MUCH better option than Stark in that situation.

One other thing, that was me being sarcastick towards a certain poster. So don't get upset. I'm just glad we won the series and I'm messing with c34 about his playstation references

You go with your best available arm at that point. Stark is not better than Routt, Bracewell, or Holder on 0 days rest...period. Stark is one notch above Girodo in our bullpen. The fact that we saw both of them in a tight SEC game is the biggest head scratcher of the year in my opinion. Starting Caleb Reed a few weeks ago made more sense than today's Girodo and Stark moves.

It has nothing to do with the 8-10 pitches and everything to do with 20 in the bullpen to get warm. It's just tough to get going three days in a row.

if Butch and Cohen had ran Holder out there today, and he had given up a 2 Run double at the end, there wouldbe half this board up in arms yelling thatCohen shouldn't have brought Holder in because he had to be tired from throwing 3 days in a row! And what could that idiot Cohen be thinking wearing out a kid's...a Freshman at that...arm by having the gall to throw him 3 days in a row. While I'm not advocating either side, a coach makes a decision based on matchups, scouting reports, reports from his bullpen on whose arm feels good and whose doesn't, etc etc that none of us here have anyaccess to. Sometimes it works out, and then sometimes it doesn't. This fanbase acts as if every time we make any move that backfires, Cohen is an idiotall because so many of you advanced past Tee Ball and thrived in coach pitch so therefore you know EXACTLYevery move we should make. Baseball cracks me up with how many experts there are in the sport.

Does Cohen make mistakes? I'm sure he does. So does every coach. I'm sure he'd like to have a do-over today. I would too. The loss hurts. All that to say thatour fanbase is as hormonal as a pregnant woman when it comes to baseball reacting either too positive or too negative with every swing of the bat.Sometimes just realize that the roll ofthe dice didn't work out whether it was the right call or not.

He made the pitch to get the guy out, and the umpires 17 the call up on the weak ground ball. Usually when a hitter gets a second chance, they make you pay.

We didn't lose the game on that- we have to not make errors, and we have to get more innings out of starting pitcher for us to win. The two games we've lost in these last three series were when we made the most errors on defense. It's not a coincidence. As we all know, we have problems on offense, and we can not get into too many slugfests and win and overcome mistakes in the field.

But back to Stark- he's not a bad pitcher. This is a guy that has an ERA of 2.57- lower than Caleb Reed mind you- and was drafted by the Nationals out of high school. And he actually has more saves than Holder does at this point over the course of his career.

How could that be? Maybe the best comments made all weekend, or all month for that matter.
