Clinton and Wallace Rose Hill lost as well. They're both in the rankings. Or should I say were in the rankings
Its definitely going to change a lot. I've got a vote on it and I'm going to have to re-evaluate a lot of the teams after this.

Reidsville already took it. Reidsville beat Edenton Holmes too..... by ALOT.
I thought NE was the best in the East but no so sure now. Clinton might be....maybe.
There's no shame in Wallace-Rose Hill losing 42-28 on the road against three time defending 4AA state champions
2A is gonna be fun this season, everyone is vulnerable and can be beaten. In the end though, you cant go wrong with the traditional power houses
2AA West will be a murderers row. It was like that b4 Burns got there, but even more dangerous now. Reminds me of 4AA West. No easy games after the 1st round. Even a down South Point can end your season if you're asleep.
Should make for a fun Playoff atmosphere...you know like before they watered it down with the split
Not sure what your seeing, was asking because someone told me Friday night WF was 4A because we’re talking about Mallard Creek’s success vs WF and they mentioned they are in different classifications.

Northeastern and Reidsville were choked like chickens by 1A. They should be on poll probation until the playoffs.
Wouldnt call East Surry a rival, but with a strong chance Reidsville drops to 1AA next alignment it could be the start of a nice little series, as they would likely be conference opponents.
I thought Cummings was Reidsvilles rivalry game.
Maybe Northeastern can get away with the rivalry excuse
I heard from a faculty guy that Reidsville's enrollment is up some this year due to a larger 9th grade class.
Reidsville used to have big rivals in Rockingham and Morehead (not talking about football only) but it's not the same since it's non-conference now. Morehead will become a conference rival again in next realignment.
Why would you not consider losing to Edenton and East Surry quality losses? Cause they are 1A?
Yep, I agree too. I dont know about Reidsville but I'm pretty sure Northeastern doesnt mind.
You have a point, Edenton did make it to the final in 2A just 3 years ago. They beat Northeastern to do it too. To add to the rivalry.

I would argue Holmes and East Surry are good enough to be considered "quality losses" even though they are 1A. East Surry went to the title game last year and are far and away the favorites to represent the West in 1AA this year. Holmes is always good and went to the 2A finals not long ago.
Yes, I would also concur that East Surry and Holmes are not at all "bad losses" for Reidsville and Northeastern....they are upsets according to most power ratings and rankings, and maybe were somewhat surprising, but like others have mentioned, they are both two of the best 1A programs in the state....East Surry lost to Tarboro in 1AA state finals last year, and the Aces lost in the 1AA regional finals to Tarboro....and I hope nobody would slam anybody in any class for losing to Tarboro
Everybody, remember THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a 4AA, 3AA, 2AA, or 1AA school.....the A vs. AA is a subdivision used only in football, and only relevant for the playoffs, and for some teams near the cut line, this distinction will change from year to year
Basically, they just invite different media outlets around the state to vote. I had a vote for years when I was in Garner in the early-to-mid 2000s, but I guess I'm just now important again, after going to the west to Mount Airy.
