Because tearing down players, who they think of as sub-human, is like breathing to some people. Say you don’t think Kriisa is the best player…fine. But being critical of him wanting to continue his college basketball career is laughably absurd. That’s why I was very forward with McPicnic or whatever his irrelevant name is.
I understand all that.
Just like I understand all the NCAA eligibility rules.
The point is, 25-26 year olds should not be allowed to play college basketball. It's a joke that freshmen and sophomores have to play against guys that are 7-8 years older then them. For many reasons. Mainly, there is a competitive advantage that physically and mentally mature men have over 18-21 year olds.
There needs to be an age limit of 23 or 24. Cap it at that. I get it, injuries happen. Or you come over late from some other country. I understand.
But that is life man. It becomes ridiculously unfair at some point. And to me, that occurs when you have 26 year olds dominating freshmen and sophomore who should not be forced to play against grown men.

I have enjoyed watching basketball and cheering on UK my entire life. That being said, like everything else in this current basketball environment, age should be addressed. I am in the minority it seems but unless there are special, and I mean special, circumstances, there should be an age limit. Can anyone name a team in UK basketball history that was as old as the current team? I suppose it is the fact that I am getting older, but it seems unnatural to me for a player to be in a sixth or possibly 7th year of college and still be eligible or even want to be.

I wish I was 25 and could play college ball. If anyone got upset I would just think they were jealous. If it is legal, we should applaud the kid for sticking it out. Lot of kids will make as much money with NIL as they would in Europe. Not everyone that leaves for the NBA makes a team roster and are stuck in the G league. Poor money and poor travel.
If they find his real birth certificate he’s likely closer to 32 (likely not really, but many MLB prospects from the DR have proved there is some fudging that goes on there),

It's really not a rule yet just an injuction by a judge that applies to former JUCO's.
I'm not a legal expert but I don't know how a judge can just declare that JUCO years no longer count against total years played.

No it isn’t. Before the Pavia case you had 5 years to play 4. Next season will be his 4th in 5 if he returns to school.
