1) The Giants were 3-2 not 2-3 at this point
2) The Giants weren't last in their division looking up at 3 teams
3) The Giants actually had success in the past say, 30 years.

The Saints are going to have to win every game they should (Oakland, KC etc.) and get some upsets against Carolina, Atlanta and TB. to have a chance. The two NFC wildcards will come out of the NFC east so unless the Saints can figure out a way to get ahead of both Atlanta and Carolina, they will be in a very familiar place come playoff time.

The ghost of Chuck Muncie is alive and well!

the Saint's can beat the Falcons and Panthers and Buccaneers. Didn't you see how great they are tonight? At home against a 1-3 team? They rock!!!!!!

Give me a break.

And to whoever said they haven't played a divisional game... they beat Tampa, so suck it.

you Saints fans are funny.

They will be underdogs to Carolina both games, and at Atlanta. They will be betting favorites against Atlanta at home I am sure, but they will probably lose anyway.

Anyone holding on to hope for the Saints right now is like someone saying MSU is 1-4 but still has a great chance to turn this season around. Both statements are true, but history and reality both tell you it ain't gonna happen.

...U of Mississippi loses, we don't lose, Falcons wins, and Saints lose. I <17>ing hate everything the Saints emulate, <17>that team. They deserve everything losing season they have ever had....

Wow. The Giants were one whole game better than the Saints this time last year. You're right. What was I thinking? As to your point 3. I seem to remember the Saints being a play or two away from the Super Bowl just two seasons ago. Once they get Coulston and Shockey back, they will be very difficult to stop. That game last night really came down to one play - and that's the dropped pass by Meachem in the first quarter. He makes that simple play and the route is on. But that's what makes the NFL the greatest game on the planet.

Their season is far from over. The injries right now are killing this team. Once they get some of these players back they will be fine. And don't worry, the perfect remedy is coming to town next weekend. My raiders will come in and help make all saints fans feel a little better about themselves

If only we had done this, if only this had happened, we were one play away.

If you measure the apex of your team's success over the past 30 years as being "a play or two away from the superbowl" then you really haven't had that much success.

we're 1-0 in the division. only 2 games back from carolina and we have 2 games with the panthers yet to be played. You people that though this "<17>" around, that is almost as juvenile as those clowns that actually type out the cuss words.

Who Dat baby!! Bring on jamarcus and darren. The only thing I fear about sunday is another injury. Last time the raiders were in the dome, they destroyed jeff blake's foot when we were 7-3. If that happends again to our qb this time, fire away haters.........

Two wins this season. Two playoff wins in 40 years. Two games behind the best team in the NFC not in the NFC east. Point oh oh oh Two percent chance the Saints make the playoffs.

I thought the <17> was an automatic replacement for certain words?

Continue living in the past. That's what they used to say about the Carolina Hurricanes/Hartford Whalers when they joined the NHL in '79. They hoisted the cup in June of '06.

After Porter had surgery this morning on his wrist, he'll be the 21st of the opening day 53 to miss time with injury. Our season isn't over.</p>

Is it kinda like the mentality of the Cubs fan where they are the lovable losers and you root for them because they have never won anything? It obviously has nothing to do with any championship or great players. My dad is a Saint's fan because Archie played for them and he is an OleMiss fan but MSU fans don't have that link.

This weekend, the hell with justin griffith and tommy kelly for at least a day. Well longer for TK i'm guessing.

New Orleans is a couple of hours from where I live. I go to a lot of games, all of them at home and a few on the road. My mother (before cancer killed her) and father took me and my sister to see the Saints in the 70's because where I grew up was not far from new Orleans either.

You like the cowboys correct. How many times have you been to irving to watch them? I'm guessing not much. did you see the star on tv and love tony dorsett or something? If i'm wrong, tell me.

You asked how, I tell you. There it is.

I've been to Irving 3 times, and seen the cowboys play in various road games. The old three rivers in the early nineties, Qwest field, Soldier Field, in a cold *** stadium in Cleveland.

Yes as a little kid I saw Tony Dorsett and Roger Staubach and Too Tall Jones and Randy White on TV and became a cowboys fans, the way many people that live in areas without a home team become fans. That's why I was asking about the Saint's, I grew up in Mississippi and I don't ever remember even seeing them on TV. Maybe as a 7 year old I just didn't watch the games unless the Cowboys or Steelers were in them.
