Elizabeth Balogun has decided that the Duke Blue Devils will be her next stop as a student-athlete.

She joins former Card Nyah Green on Kara Lawson's 2021-22 Blue Devils squad.

Personally, I hope the best for her, maybe she can regain the form that made her ACC Freshman of the Year when she was at Georgia Tech. At Louisville, she had numerous opportunities and better players eventually got more playing time than she did.

Here's hoping she has a great final couple of years as a Blue Devils, Except when they face Louisville, of course.

Will Duke be playing in 2021-22?

I know they cancelled this season in DECEMBER, so hopefully they will play next season. Guessing they will, now that they have bolstered their lineup.

She should do well at Dook. In fairness to Balagun, we played her out of position her entire time here. She should be fine.....

What position do you think she should have been playing? She played the 2, 3 and 4. She played a lot on the perimeter. Her passing and ball handling were not up to snuff (IMO) to play the 2. Her interior defense was very good. She is an very good slasher, yet, she didn’t slash enough.

I think Balogun had a better season when she had Shook, Dunham and Diop on the squad with her. Then, she didn't have to battle in the paint as much. With Kianna getting playing time and Hailey joining the roster last year, it was a matter of time before Kianna took her job.

Don't get me wrong, Elizabeth Balogun has All-ACC squad potential. Maybe she'll achieve it with the Blue Devils.

Balagun (sp) played the four here, she is NOT a four. She is a guard/wing player, and that’s where I’m sure she will play at Dook. She sacrificed her game quite a bit to allow our smaller players to play in position. She went from being a primary threat to a jack of all trades this past season.

Out of position or not she took the same shots this past season and just wasnt near as accurate. Her first year she was money from the deep corners but not so much this past year. I wish her well.

My thoughts on her was that she was to slow against the caliber of competition we play. I think Duke canceled their season this past year because they were horrible. Covid helped them escape an embarrassing year I will be surprised if they can turn things around that quick.

Dook has 8 Division 1 transfers, Dook will be legit in no time at all, plus they have a new coach who is extremely well known. Balogun is a tough player, she will be fine at Dook.

But that’s the beauty of players being able to transfer. She can go somewhere and hopefully utilized to her strengths. I enjoyed the two years she played here, but she was obviously optioned out to the younger players. I wish her well.
