Bama, if your running the MSU defense

what would you try to do with our personnel on defense?

We know their weapons are excellent qb protection, running the football, play action, norwood, amari cooper, lacy, t.j. yeldon. How would you try to play them if you were Wilson?

load the box early, man up on the outside, and see where that gets you in the first half?

You know saban is going to take away the one thing we like to do most on offense. Points are at a premium.

You HAVE to get them in 3rd and long. So I don't see how you do anything but load the box and hope McCarron is off. We desperately have to force TOs and mistakes (misreads, misthrows) by McCarron.

1. MSU has to be able to lockdown Bama's passing Game... ie-keep McCarron under 150+-, no TDs, and get a pick. We LOVE 1st Down passing.
2. Sellout to stop the run... put as many in the box as possible... and hang on as long as you can.
3. Convert on 3rd Downs... TOP will be key for your D in the 4th.
4. Yall will need to get some explosive plays as it's seldom Bama allows a (meaningful) drive for a score.
5. Yall will need to be +2 in turnovers...
6. Yall will need a big play or 2 in STs...

Just take a look at what LSU did against a superior Bama team last year. They held Bama to 27 points in 8+ quarters. That's the key for our defense. Make McCarron beat us. Don't let Lacy & Yeldon loose. Easier said than done of course. We've got to tackle WAY better than last week for sure.

On offense, we've got to attack that secondary. I'm not sold on their ability to defend a solid passing game. You couldn't tell because of who they've played (They've already faced two back-up freshman QB's in conference), but if they are vulnerable, it's through the air. UT might give us an idea of just how to do that.

I'd like to see Sunseri covering Malcolm Johnson or Green. I think that's a match-up we can exploit.

Bottom line: Tyler, the O-line, and the receivers have to play their best game. If we can put them on their heels through the air, things might open up enough for LDP.

The way yo beat bama is to stop the run and force their QB to beat you with his arm. A tall order I know considering their talented OL and RB's. But if you can do that, you have a chance. If their QB can beat you, then kudos to bama and move on to the next game.

Load the box with 7. Let the DBs play man. Make McCarron and his young WRs beat you. Tall order, but I believe this is the best course of action. MUST make Lacy a non-factor.

actually, yall should probably put 11 in the box, go man-to-man on the outside, with safeties over the top in a Dime package.

i would try wells/hughes over broomfield

and just nickoe as a single-high safety

leave banks and slay 1on1, nickoe over the top
everybody else in the box 4-4

bama seems to kill folks pulling g and running powers to the left and right, i would take this away with an extra in the box and see what my corners were made of...

...if they run 3wide then you would prob have to put broom on the boundry edge with nickoe shaded to his side and let banks and slay run 1on1

Piledrive, suplex, drop kick, monkey flip, ddt, diving elbow drop, and cobra clutch early and often. It wouldn't hurt to hide a handful of that green voodoo dust down in the jock straps to throw in their eyes if MSU gets behind.
