Bama's offense is also really predictable.

bama doesn't run a

high powered offense. They run the ball a lot and pass enough to keep you honest. They have better players than everyone else and rely on that. That said, bama has played pretty bad by their standards. Saban has been scowling all night.

You're right. It seems clear to me now that the way to beat them is to play them close to the line of scrimmage. Make them throw deep. No running, no short passes...everyone plays up close.

I'm no coach though, but that is what my untrained eye sees.

Agree. Saban is a defense guy and Bama wins with defense. On offense they have a good OL, good RBs, and a QB who can manage the game.

Mississippi was up for this game. Bama wasnt up for the weakest SEC team on their schedule.

Agreed. Bama looked flat the second half. No jumping around after big plays, just back to the huddle. No emotion. Not taking away from Ole Miss. Just seemed after Bama got the lead, they put it on cruise.

Their main objective on offense is to not 17 up.

Control the pace of the game with your defense. Maintain field position. Take a long time to score on offense with power running and low risk passing. With their superior talent, it's great game plan for consistent success.

That said, their superior talent should have blown OM out of the water this evening. OM played well and hung in there. They are much improved.

Why doesn't Bama take some shots down the field? Is McCarron that bad? Give your big guys and backs a little space to do what they do better. They are unnecessarily handicapping their offense by not even attempting to stretch the field. Their o line is so good it shouldn't be to risky to let one fly every other series or so...

I still don't know why Mississippi never took a shot or 4 with Moncrief after the 1sr TD drive.

I think you make a good point, but you just cant beat bama by shutting them down. You have to be unpredictable on offense. Bama knew if they doubled moncreif enough, OM would grow impatient thinking they needed a homerun and there the interception would be.

Kind of what we did with Troy. If om could have figured out a way to 'decoy' Moncreif to get some bigger plays, they might have made it dangerously close.

Well, what I saw, their o line on quite a few occasions got pushed around. Sadly impressed by the bears last night.
