I haven't seen anything to pt the Cosgrove statement out there. We had a good half of defense, and then the thing we already new was a problem, IE the secondary, caught up with us again.
I think the comparison is fair. His prior job performance didnt justify hiring him. He is here because he is buddies with the head coach.
Yup, exactly. Penalties are no better. Pass defense is 10 times as bad. Only thing better is run defense. Awesome halftime adjustments this week!
You are so wrong. Bo and JP's pass defense was salty. The run defense, no. We have been decimated thru the air this year. Bankgrove!
Actually Southern Miss just decided to pass in the 2nd half. Our pass D is an obvious weakness. Surprised they didn't do that in first half as well
I understand that we are going through some changes but the things you listed as well as repeatedly snapping the ball on the last drive with 10+ seconds left, ala BYU, leaves me scratching my head
interesting dichotomy isn't it? Pelini teams couldn't defend off tackle plays to save their lives, we bring in a different coordinator with different schemes to perform better against the run and the talent gap in the secondary fails us nut we can stop the run.
Give it time. Recruiting can fix what ills this defense.
What talent gap in the secondary are you talking about? Can I have some of those drugs you are taking that are clouding your judgement. We have PLENTY of talent in the secondary. It's the scheme that sucks.
Long time Beaver. Go to the Beaver site and read the archive. Your problems used to be ours for the last decade. Penalties, poor defense, etc. Riley will never fire his longtime assistants. We appreciate all Riley did for us but it appears even with better recruits it still comes down to coaching. Love coach Anderson.
