as of today he plans to leave<div>
</div><div>Hopefully his NFL eval persuades him to stay his last season- but Banks really wants to start getting paid</div><div>
</div><div>Cox? Hard to tell a 1st round pick to stay in college- but he is listening to the right people...and is not dead-set on leaving like Banks</div>

Not saying he's telling the truth, but I've heard something similar from a friend of mine a while back. The only reason I never made a thread about it was because this is worst than 2nd hand information. It basically went something like my friend, heard from his friend who has Banks in one of his classes and he told said guy that he was declaring for the draft because not only does he have an opportunity to get drafted but because he's not on good terms with Mullen.<div>
</div><div>Even if it may be true.. it's not something I'd read too deeply into unless he actually declared for the draft. I don't really put that much stock into things like that to begin with, because one time (and I'm not making this up) I was talking to Trevor Stigers and he told me that he was going to transfer to USM because he didn't like Mullen. This was 2 years ago, and Trevor is still on our roster. I don't know what changed his mind whether it be family, personal interest or he and Mullen became cool...it doesn't matter as he's still on the team. Had I made a thread about that a while back, I would have been called an idiot and/or troll for reporting something that was legitimately said to me only for it not to come true.</div><div>
</div><div>So who knows... what my friend's friend's friend may have heard might be true.. or there may be another reason that Banks may decide to pack up and move to greener pastures, but regardless of what happens.. I wouldn't be too upset between him staying (good for us) or him leaving (good for him).</div>

no need to get bent out of shape. Stick around a bit longer and you'll notice that these type of responses are second hand to information like this when there's not a credible source or it at least doesn't sound favorable.

I see a kid that desperately needs another year to put some weight on. He is tiny. Met him in person at SuperBulldog Weekend. Also met Stigors, dude is ghetto as hell, from the mean streets of Madison

and I think he is a better cover guy than Broomfield. I noticed Dee Arington played some, I think he will play a little saftey next year as well.

I heard a few weeks ago from some family of mine in the area he grew up in that this was very likely. He's going to get advice, and if he's going in the first few rounds which is a good possibility, he's gone.

Like last time I mentioned this, but here goes. My bro in law is a national scout for an NFL team and when he visits Starkville I always ask who he's looking at. This year it was mainly Ballard (bc he's a Senior). He did however mention He was very impressed with Banks, but said he needs to put on some weight; real skinny. He didn't say he would likely get drafted this year, but that doesn't mean another team won't do it. What I thought was strange is I asked him about Cox and really didn't know much. As a national scout he only looks at the best JRs and SRs while the regional scouts will write reports on Younger players. Still I thought it was odd.

Fletcher's stock no doubt went up considerably as a result of him being named as a first team All-American. It'll be interesting to see how that all pans out.<div>
</div><div>But if he could manage to be a first round draft choice, I don't see how anybody could blame him for taking the big money and going to the NFL. You never know what might happen, including injury, next year if he stayed with us.</div><div>
</div><div>How many first team All-Americans have we had in our past?</div>

I know we aren't a nationwide name brand program, but if scouts have to wait for the all-American list to come out before they find out that Fletcher Cox is a bad ***, they aren't doing their job right.

my initial thoughts about the draft is that Cox should go and Banks should stay, but you never know a kid's financial situation and what he came from. I wish JB the best if what I am hearing is true also</p>

Cox could stay and likely become a Damadingdong Sue - college DL award winning beast that everyone is talking about, and pick himself up several more million.

Banks is very good, but he needs to bulk up. He could return and put himself in a 1st/2nd round position, and get a whole lot more money as well.

Boobie was no slacker, and his contract was what, $400K ?

however, qualify my post by saying my source was not reliable. Little did I know, he was one of several middle aged, white maleWebster County rednecks who thought he was Banks' "father figure" and had his hand out for whatever JB mightgive him. Lessonhumbly learned. No more posting of rumors until further notice.
