He may have slipped a little but still a long way to go...

He still has his pro day and I'm sure he will get plenty of individual work outs with teams. He definitely didn't have the day he was looking for though. I was thinking closer to 4.5 than 4.6. We knew he wasn't a 4.4 guy.

I think Slay is gonna kill it this morning though.

I was hoping for around 4.5. Then again, I could see some of the better teams (NE) jumping on him, if not he's a early to mid 2nd round pick.

I'm not surprised in any way given these are electronically timed. I've certainly never thought of Banks as a pure speed guy.

Nope- Banks is a football player- his instincts make-up for his speed, but unfortunately, lots of NFL players have great instincts also

I've said all year Slay is a better CB. Plus Slay translates better to the next level. He's more physical.

Agreed. I dont know if I'd say he's better, but I always said if you're an NFL team there is more value in Slay than Banks considering where you'd have to draft the two.

Why isn't Banks a FS? Is he not thick enough?

Seems like he's got the height and would be above average at coverage and would hopefully be in a better position to match up with some of the tweener guys that are too fast for linebackers but too big for most cb's. I know you'd prefer a lock down corner to a good FS, but it seems like if 4.6 was too slow for a lockdown corner, he'd still be a very good FS prospect.

At 4.6 he could play cb in a physical press man defense ala Seattle, however, he's not physical and he's never played press man. Brandon Browner is a 4.6 guy but he's really physical.

Gaining weight.....if he's not getting bigger he's not eating enough. It's that simple.

And Broomfield was better at corner than Safety. However, Banks will find a good landing spot. He makes plays. I really think he will end up at F/S if he lands on the right team/division.

I think Banks will wind up playing safety in the NFL. They'll put weight on him and beef him up.
