Buck went to Alcorn and did not actually read the proposal
The Democratic chairman of the House Universities and Colleges Committee, Rep. Kelvin Buck, opposes the Republican governor's proposal. Buck says Mississippi would hurt its own economic future by limiting higher education
You would only need one of many things instead of three. One President, one VP for Student Affairs, one Provost, etc. You could also eliminate replication by assigning certain majors to each campus.
There is nothing about this that does not make sense. My peeps say that it isn't as bad as it sounds - MUW would be MSU-Columbus but Valley and Alcorn would stay Valley and Alcorn, but be governed by a central administration at JSU. (e.g., there would be no JSU-Lorman or JSU-Itta Bena.)
Actually maybe we could start a baseball team at the W, have Polk coach it, and then all of the MSU baseball fans that go to watch "the boys" could watch them ferry around while the fans who want to win can go to Starkville and watch Cohen's team.
You do not have to read it word for word but this was written in true form. I have never been able to read something about budgets before falling asleep on the second sentence. This stuff is true common sense. Some of the stuff in there is mind blowing. The bad part is none of this stuff will get done in our state.</p>
