I love these guys. Bardo does great game analysis. Katz was a rip during in studio halftime with his homerism for Rutgers.

I just love being on BTN. The analysts know every player and are a pleasure to listen to, and the production is top notch. It’s so much better than crap we had to deal with before we joined the league.

Katz isn't a homer. He went to Wisky and his kids go to another Big10 School. He just loves Pike and the incredible turnaround job that he has done and he saw it before even most of our fans did .
On a separate note, I will take the B team on a Big10 broadcast over any college or professional broadcast out there. And yeah, Bardo is good but Robbie Hummel is elite

Bardo is good, but two years in a row he predicted RU would lose to Purdue in the final minutes
Last year I think he said Purdue would win by double digits at the last break in the game

Yup. But Katz is all in for Rutgers 24/7. Doesn’t mean he is going to pick us to win every game, but he thinks so highly of Pike, staff and our players, and has for a few years now.
He is our biggest cheerleader on BTN. As someone said earlier, I would think that Katz’ constant pro R Hoops stance would grate on fans of other teams. Which for me, makes it even better!!! And Pike and this team keep delivering, making Andy look good.

Don’t take personal. Everyone is a predictor these days. I could care less who predicts what. No one knows.
Bardo and Hummel call it like it is or how they feel and get paid to give their opinions.

Oh, I can see how what he predicted could happen
Last year we were behind by a bit at the break and we easily could have stayed there and lost by ten by having to foul late etc
I have no real resentment
I made the observation a few weeks ago that the in-game guys often seem to actively root for our opponents (eg go ape-sh&t when the opponent hits a three yet deliver a deadpan call when we do) while the studio guys are often ridiculously pro-RU
It has been 8 1/2 years right? Other than the occasional idiot, I think Big 10 fans are now fine with RU and Maryland. Katz is a college basketball junkie. He sees what Pikiell is doing with less regarded talent, and he loves it.
It is unlikely that Katz and I are ever in the same bar, but if we are, he will not pay for a drink.
Lou, I think many of the legacy B1G fans will always want to diminish Rutgers and Maryland, to comparatively elevate themselves/their program. It’s what a lot of people do.
I love it that we are in the BIG Ten and on the BTN. The announcers and those in the studio are so very knowledgeable. Whenever we are on FS1 it seems as if the announcers are not nearly as good as those on BTN. I think we are very lucky to be where we are.
He did technically say this, but it was sort of a joking double down on his pregame prediction
Can’t get smoother than Bardo. Love him as an announcer.
